Can anyone recommend a celebrant/marquee company/caterer in Midlands area?

Hi everyone

I've been a lurker for a while but am after some advice if anyone can help! We're planning our wedding for August next year and will be putting a marquee in my parents' back garden as they live in the country. I've been doing some research into caterers/marquees/celebrants and have some companies I can contact, but just wondered if anyone has any personal recommendations. We're thinking of having afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast and we have the evening food sorted already.

For anyone that had a celebrant and did the legal bit separately-did your guests see this as a 'real' wedding? When I told one of my friends she said 'oh so it's basically just more like a massive party then?' which made me worry that people won't think it's real, especially as it's at my parents' house...

Thanks in advance x

Well it will be a massive party anyway ?

But quite often I have shot a blessing without any exchange of rings even, and most of the guests still think they are witnessing a wedding.

    Hi,

Where in the Midlands are your parents? I got married in Northampton but I live in Birmingham so may be able to help.

Haha yes you're right, I hope it is a massive party! Just worried people won't think it's a real wedding ceremony!

Hi Aimee, they're on the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border, probably about half an hour from Birmingham. Any recommendations would be appreciated, thanks Smiley smile

Hello - I can recommend Rustic Roast Kitchen in Solihull for a caterer. They did my friends wedding in a marquee last summer and were so good we've booked them for ours in April! Heather is brilliant - so helpful and flexible and the food is really good!

Also, I wouldn't worry about people thinking it's not a 'real wedding' - I went to two humanist ceremonies last year and they were both very memorable and touching. There are less rules about what you have to include in the ceremony so you can make it more personalized and tailored to fit you. If you make it clear that you see saying your vows in front of all of your loved ones as the 'real' part and the legal stuff as just a formality then I'm sure everyone will see it the same way.

    Hi,

We have worked with a company called Country House Occasions in the Midlands area.

Pretty sure they sort most of everything you will need, and it looked amazing!

Not sure about the Celebrant though?????...

I am an Independent celebrant and most of the ceremonies I create have a slight traditional feel to them, including vows and exchange of rings and a lot of guests don't realise the difference.

i have a number of celebrants I work with around the country, so please let me know if you would like their details. You can email me at ******@************.**.**
