Hello

i am wanting to do a sweetie buffet, I am catering for 70 people, I think I'm going to buy 18kg of sweets, I am ordering these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rainbow-Swirly-Pops-6-Supplied/dp/B00QALXK8M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425753241&sr=8-1&keywords=Rainbow+lollies but I'm not sure how I can display them any ideas?

Some one recently posted cheap jars they bought from ikea for their sweets. Pondland/99p store sell all manner of scoops, spoons and tongs.

For the lolly pops, why not get a square of polystyrene, cover in coloured crepe paper with a ribbon around the bottom, and push the sticks in the top. You could even cut that packing polystyrene that TV's/computers come posted in. If you cant find polystyrene, florist shops or hobbycraft sell 'oasis', but you might find the green comes off on the sticks.

I just found these also for pop cakes:

You won't regret having one! Our guests loved ours and it was busy all night. I'll get some photos and post them for you on here. Ours was for 80 and we had loads left over. We got tongs and personalised paper sweet bags from eBay really cheap, the sign came from eBay. and little bits and bobs from B&M, Home Bargains and the Pound Shop. Glass jars we got from TK Maxx and Home Bargains.

Hey, I found this on Pinterest recently and thought it was a great way to display lollipops:

It might not work as well with the mixture of swirly pop, but thought I would share Smiley smile

This is really handy for me too! What size tongs did people use? I can only find 16cm- will they be too big?

16cm is a bit shorter than the length of your hand so I wouldn't expect it to be too big.

    My dad is making mine!

Mum is doing lots of bits with my DIY wedding in September and dad was seeming a bit left out, so I've charged him with making some steps to put on the table that I can cover in fabric. He is taking it all very seriously and I think he is enjoying having a job!

As for the jars and tongs, like others said cheap shops and charity shops.

sweets I'm getting from the cash and carry, just buying a bit every now and then to spread the cost :-)

Ooh love the Ferris wheel catshoes.

I made one of those soraneko, was dead easy. Got the polystyrene ball from hobbycraft and covered it in tissue paper first. Used tonnes of lollipops though!!

    ETA flash.

We're having a chocolate buffet and I'm buying gradually. OH and I have no willpower so I only buy when I'm on the way to visit my mum and she is storing it all for me.

A tip I would give to everyone is that generally the larger the scoops and bags you provide the more people will take - often far more than they actually need / will eat.
