Can i have some BM dress opinions please?

AutumnRose, 26 February, 2009 at 15:43 Posted on Planning 0 23

So i've i've been stuck at home on sick leave all week i've been doing lot's of wedding research and planning ?. Every cloud and all that......

Anyway i'm having a dusky pink and cream colour scheme in a vintagy/antique kind of style with a big emphasis on roses. Been looking at BM dresses and there are two very different styles that i like but not sure what would work best for my 4 adult BMs. Would love some opinions as my BMs are split down the middle as to who likes what. Not making any decisions until i've chosen my dress i think but still would like to have a good idea so i can keep my eyes open for good deals etc....

I won't say which is my favourite!!!

Dress 1: i like this as it's very vintagy with the shape and lace bit underneath. Plus its strapless and as i KNOW i dont want a strapless dress it'd be nice if their dresses were different

Dress 2 : This is classically pretty and a couple of my BMs like it as it fits with the antique look. It also has roses on the side which are lovely and go with the theme.

Usually I don't like tea length dresses but in this case I love the first dress. The second dress isn't as nice a colour in my opinion and not sure about the detail at the waist.

1st one - love it! Isn't that from Littlewoods? Sure I've seen it somewhere.

The first one is lovely but I really don't like full length bridesmaid dresses.

I much prefer the first one and think it would suit your vintage look better. The 2nd dress is nice but tbh don't think the picture does it justice ...... and the model looks miserable as sin!

I like number 1 as well...would there be something close to that style that your CBM and sister would like?

I think i can compromise with them....tbh i think my CBM will wear what i ask her if it comes to it. My sister could be more of a problem, she doesn't want to wear strapless and i specifically want the BMs in strapless because its different to what i'll be wearing!! She doesnt want to wear pink either but that is non-negotiable!!

I don't want them to be uncomfortable all day though......its difficult. Thing is with 4 i doubt i'll be able to make them all completely happy and as i'm paying for them i may just have to do the best i can with what they want and sort of decide for them...

Whar about spaghetti straps?, I know that some people don't like strapless for fear of them slipping down but if your sister had v fine straps would that be ok?...just an idea

Yep i think that's a good idea, and probably what we'll end up doing i think. Most of that style dress come strapless but could easily get my mum to add some...

Definitely the first one, and as another option, could you not get some kind of shrug / bolero for the one who isn't keen on strapless?

I have the first dress. It's a very pale pink with lots of netting.

ETA I'm sure it comes with straps you can attach
