Can I justify Jimmy Choos?

My issue with shoes is I'm limited on the heel height, it has to be no more than 2.5inches (the size of the Jimmy Choos), because otherwise the dress will be too short.

I've searched for a decent pair of low heeled shoes and the nicest I can find are a fairly plain rainbow club pair. Even they are £70 and I hate the idea of spending £70 on a pair of shoes I'm not that keen on and will never wear again.

The Jimmy Choos on the otherhand, I could wear again - for weddings, nights out etc. My other justification is it would have cost me at least £400 to order a longer version of my dress and then get the hem taken up (that way I would have been free to choose prettier higher heeled shoes) so £360 on shoes is ok in comparison.

But I'm worried that it's just a waste, that I'll regret spending all that money and I should just go for the cheaper, plainer ones. I never spend a lot of money on clothes or shoes so it feels like a ridiculous amount of money and if you'd told me a year a go I would have been writing this thread I would have laughed at you. I think the wedding has gone to my head. But I feel like if I'm ever going to get an excuse to splurge on a pair of shoes it's now.

What would you/did you do?

Also if anyone else has seen any pretty low heel peep toes please let me know!

Oh and flashes so you can see what I mean:

Plain pair

The Jimmy Choos (£290 price difference between the two)

Ooh that's handy! Yeah we'll be the same height if I'm in 2inch heels but I don't think either of us would have been that worried if I was taller than him - just didn't think of not having as much choice with lower heels! I'll probably be greatful for lower heels in the day though as struggle to walk in higher ones! My bridal shop have suggested I get lots of different shoes I can return and try them all at my prefit to get an idea so I'm just going to go on a mega shoe shop!

I can't remember Jimmy Choo in Bicester but remember the outlet stores have stuff specifically made for them so may not be ones on the JC website.

Personally, I much prefer the Jimmy Choos...but I am a bit of shoe/handbag addict (hehe) so I would say that.

It is hard to justify that amount on a pair of shoes, but if they make you feel special and you know for certain you'll wear them again, then you might just have to go for it!

I bought mine at Bicester they had a bridal selection of about 6-7 designs when I went, with normal designs in the rest of the shop. The selection was decent enough for me.

I decided in the end I didn't love the low heeled jimmy choos enough. I took a chance on a sale pair of rainbow club shoes (similar to the plain pair) that arrived today and they fit perfectly so I'm going to go with them and treat myself to higher pair of jimmy choos for other occasions - I've also got my 30th this year so would love a pair for that and that way I've got more choice on colours/style/height and can spend the money on a pair I really love.

Think this is a wise decision. Think of all the colour options! I am now considering not getting a pair as I think I would like a black pair I know I can wear again and again. (Plus my wedding budget is spiralling!)

Defiantly go for the choos! I got mine yesterday and absolutely love them. If you can't treat yourself for your wedding day then when can you?

Awww your all making me so jealous Smiley sad I have terrible problems with shoes in fact it's the one thing I'm dreading looking for. Due to arthritis in my feet I'm only a size 2. Grate for trainers and boots but not for going out. Just going to go through the thread again and look at the pretty shoes. Haha.

Whenever I consider buying something expensive I always try to work out the PPW (Price Per Wear) which helps me decide whether it's going to be worth buying.

I could spend a £50 on a dress that I end up wearing to one event and then it sits in my wardrobe for years to come so the PPW is £50. On the other hand I could spend £200 on a pair of boots (not that I have) but I could wear those boots every day through the winter for 2-3 years which could easily equal about 200 days so the PPW is £1. Which one is the better investment?

It's the same with weddings in my opinion. I'm trying the dress I love second hand as its about £1,200 to buy new and I'm only going to wear it once. I've got my eye on a pair of Louboutins which will cost hundreds of pounds but which I will wear to any and every special occasion for years to come. To me that makes more sense.

Some things you can compromise on for your wedding day..and sometimes you have to do what makes you feel best...I absolutely think you should get the choo's. Yes it's only one day but it is your day. If that is what it takes to make you happy then do it. And as you said..you have saved money on your dress. It's a fair cop.

one thing I refused to scrimp on was my ring. Yes you get lovely £200-300 rings, I saw a fair few. But I knew what I wanted and was willing to buy a sample dress, make my own decorations, forego a wedding car etc to pay for my flashy ring. Because that makes me and my partner happy.
