Can I see what your LCD TV is sat on ?

jelly baby, 1 December, 2008 at 20:43 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

H has found out today that he is NOT being made redundant and has decided to treat himself to a 40" LCD TV that he's been hankering after for about a year.

Originally we were going to have it wall mounted but we can't be bothered with the expense / hassle of having the wall channeled out etc and have decided to put it on some kind of stand. My preference is for something that looks more like a piece of furniture than a TV stand.

Anyone got any pictures they can show me to give me an idea. If it's of any help the absolute maximum width it could be is 175cm.

We have a Vogel system which we got reasonable at COSTCO

This is somthing like what the TV is attached to http://www.vogels.com/pages/consumer/products/details.aspx?classification=80&subclassification=31&id=389

But if you look at this link, and scroll to accessories then you can see how our cables are hidden https://www.vogels.com/pages/consumer/products/placement.aspx?classification=80

We then have white trunking on the skirting to hide the wires to the plug.

I have a 40" LCD. We have this for it to sit on, perfect for storage too.

Thanks for the responses, I think the problem is that I have a picture in my head but can't actually define what it is - I just seem to know what I don't want which isn't very helpful.

Croyde - that's the TV he want to buy, are you pleased with it ?

we have a 42" plasma but it sits on this. I love it, the side cupboard doors actually turn right back and sit into the sides of the unit so you can see shelves rather than a door if you want to. Dwell do some lovely bits and pieces.

I can't find our exact one (we bought it with the TV) but it's this one with only one shelf underneath.

Mine is on this. We wanted something that looked like a proper bit of furniture rather than a modern looking tv stand thingy. But it has holes in the back for cables, so is designed for a tv.

It's quite a large piece of furniture, probably bigger than it looks in the pic. But the big telly (it's a 40" or 42", can't remember which) fits comfortably on it with space either side. Got it here http://shop.sterlingfurniture.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=3175

Sorry only just seen this - yes it is a great TV, a couple of weeks back it was on offer with a free blu ray dvd player and a couple of hundred pounds off it so H treated himself. Its great. All of our TV's are Samsung and we can't fault them.
