Thank you all yes i think he does have a cateract as this shadow was on all the photo's from all angles poor thing.

been very clicky today and got some great pics one very good one of a rain drop. im very pleased with my camera but wish i could afford a DSLR grr

PF - buy a film SLR. I bought one from ebay for £30 including a couple of lenses. Stick some black and white film in and away you go.

Is i was to get an SLR, and learnt on this to take great pics could all the tricks etc be transfered to a DSLR?

is there any SLR's that i should stay clear of? and rec's?

Of course - all the digital bit does is get the image onto your computer straight away. All the same techniques apply.

Something like this would serve you very well.
