Can it be done....6months to plan a wedding!

Titch83, 29 April, 2013 at 21:10 Posted on Planning 0 1

Really need some advice and inspiration. So here's the plan, we have our wedding booked at the church for April next year (no venue in our budget found as yet) but I have found a venue I love. As with most venues if we bring the wedding forward to this year we save a huge amount but its October I would want. The plan is to get married at the church around 3 (early oct so clocks haven't changed) then go straight to an evening BBQ reception. I'm not a huge fan of having a wedding breakfast due to having a complicated family so this seems perfect for me. The problem is, bringing it forward do we really have the time to enjoy planning? We have 2 young children, I return to work off mat leave in a few weeks and we are renovating our house. We don't have a huge budget as we can't justify spending a huge amount of money on one day when our priorities are the children and our family home. My partner is worried that if we do it this year friends & family will of already used there holidays at work and could struggle to attend stag do etc (typical male) ha ha. Sorry for long post just need some reassurance Smiley smile

6 months is plenty of time to plan a wedding but you must get cracking!

Unless you are buying a preloved, sample or off the peg dress you would need to think about ordering it ASAP.

And think about booking your TOG (if you are having one)

The rest should come together pretty quickly.

Not that the weather is predictable at any time of year but does your venue have a back up plan if it rains will the BBQ still be possible?

Yes I would imagine they do as its a late deal package in a marquee so don't think the food part will be a problem but I will ask that. I've had a few quotes from a tog so I know some are available at the minute. With regards to dress I haven't even looked at what I want. We have this week to decide what to do as venue holding date for 5 days
