Yours is gorgeous, very vintage looking. Do you mind me asking where you got it from?

This thread is really helpful. Thanks ladies. I know an ER is a personal choice, but it's nice to see the rings that everyone has. I've got to think, "can I live with it for the rest of my life," so your pics are helpful as there is a HUGE range of styles on here. xx

Ooh la la I found it really hard to decide on a ring too, and my e-ring is nothing like I thought I would have picked, I didnt want a raised/high setting as I have horses so thought would always be catching it. I didn't really want a twisted band either ... didn't want claws ... and I have all those 3 lol

The only thing I am disappointed is with my ring is that it is yellow gold and I would of preferred white, we did have it rhodium plated but it just wears so quickly and after having it done twice to return to white gold I gave up

    Good luck chooosing!

Ooppps, I don't want to crash this post, but my Mum warned me against going for white gold for this fact. She said in the long run I'll end up paying more, by having it plated every year at £50.00 a pop! (She reckons it will need doing once a year because I'll be wearing it everyday obviously!) Therefore, thanks to my Mum, our budget is having to rise to accommodate for platinum! Never/don't wear yellow gold.

I did feel like a bit of a tit yesterday, trying on expensive rings with a swatch watch with a massive giraffe on it on my wrist!!!

    xx

The jewellers did it for free for us both times, we did think of changing the band to platinum in the end but I am a sentimental fool and want the band to be what he proposed in.

Ha ha at the giraffe watch - I want one!!!

I did think about this but i also have a white gold commitment ring that i wear on my right hand and have had it almost two years now and it only looks a little bit tarnished and scratched. Its not really yellowed at all yet, but ernest jones have offered the replating on both my rings for free when they do eventually need doing. My aunt has worn white gold wedding and engagement rings for 25 years and has only had to have them replated once or twice, and my cousin also has white gold and has worn her ER for nearly 6 years now and it hasn't yet needed replating, neither has her wedding ring. So i wouldn't be too worried about it really.
