Can we have an advertising rules post STUCK to the top of the 1st page?

I agree. Totally taking the mickey that rules are only rules for some things. Mind you considering the forum keeps breaking and heaps of people have left the whole thing is becoming frustrating.

Unless posts with advertising in get deleted it won't make a lot of difference. Those people who do this only come to do it once ususally and couldn't care less about the rules. I think my only worry is that people might get fed up of us complaining, especially me as I have posted about 6 times this week about it, so I am going to leave it alone now and see what happens.

ETA that I have reported this post ? In the hope that some one might actually then read it

Just had another thought...why don't first posts get checked over by the powers that be before it actually posting on the board?..that way advertising will be nipped in the bud straight away ?

The only way i've had any luck with getting NA's removed (naughty advertisers) is to email someone @ hitched directly - over on 'wanted' and 'for sale' there were/are usually heaps of folks advertising, so I emailed Darren and he did have a clear out, although this was some time ago ... 'reporting' them via the special button seems to do little good sadly.

Agree with PG tho' - now its so much quieter on here, even the NA's will probably not get much return for their efforts of registering and posting!

The way the DJ forums do it is they appoint a few of the regulars to be moderators and give them the ability to delete a post if necessary. Mind you we have 'pm' facility so us mods can question someone in private before removing a post or remove it then send a message to explain why.

Are we allowed to give a mention to places that have done amazing feats of service for us? I have had 2 great supplier experiences this morning and am not advertising for them, just want to let other brides know that there are some lovely suppliers....

As far as I am aware genuine brides 2 be can name and praise suppliers, it is when people pretend to be brides and blatantly promote themselves quite often without posting anything.

Such as both photography posters which are still showing! N & P are allowed from Brides provided it's genuine and not someone pretending on their behalf or, worse still, them pretending.

Just tried to report another advertiser and the report button doesn't do anything now so maybe they've disconnected it because they're sick of us pressing! Yesterday, it just took me to the conversation page - now, nothing.

I agree, it's really annoying and it would be great if it could be stopped. The dove thread was removed fast enough so why not all these others?

Only time will tell if it actually works......

I am a mod on another Wedding Forum and we can zap any advertising as soon as it appears. Also you have to have over 100 posts to name a supplier or give a N&P this way we know that it is genuine.
