Can you cook with bitter (not ale)??

Oh Zippy, 28 November, 2008 at 10:41 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

So, we're having friends around tonight and H decided to cook them a beef and ale stew (he likes cooking, I hate it), so he could make it in advance and serve it today. Then he remembered I'm having a day off so decided I could cook it today instead!!

He bought all the ingredients but I notice that he's bought a bottle of bitter. The recipe calls for ale, guinness or stout. Shall I use the bitter, or will it not taste okay?

Bitter is a sort of ale. It'll be fine.

    Helloooooooo!! How are you? ?

I'm good thanks.... yup, we moved in September. I took them an AGE to get broadband back on and by that time I'd got out of the habit of surfing so much. It's been great... so much more time. Love the house, it's great to have a bit more space.

Job is good though my new boss is a bit of a pratt! The drive hasn't been too bad so far.

It's nice to have a day off though.

What have you been up to?? (I'm off to start cooking in a mo, so I might PM you later?)
