Can't decide what to do for table numbers.....need some inspiration

kirstycat, 14 February, 2011 at 19:00 Posted on Planning 0 10

We don't have any kind of theme really so nothing instantly springs to mind for our table numbers. I was thinking about getting the paper mache 3-D ones that I've seen on here before and painting them silver to match our colour theme but I'm a bit worried they'll look like they've been done by a 3 year old!

So, all you crafty types, looking for some ideas.....over to you

Colour scheme is navy and silver. Table linen is white with dark blue crystals and centrepieces are quite simple - goldfish bowls with white roses and grasses.

Are you having the roses and grasses kind of bent into the bowl? As if so could you find some silver or navy simple numbers that would fit into the bowls with the flowers.

Yes, the flowers and grasses will be bent round the inside of the bowl. Not sure I know what you mean about the number though - must be a bit thick!

I mean put the number in the bowl, like the castles that goldfish swim round except with no fish and no castle.

Or if you are going to have wine bottles on the tables you could design new labels in your colours/ font etc that have the table numbers on.

Oh right - I get you now. Sorry - I don't have a creative bone in my body so don't always find it easy to visualise things. But those both sound like great ideas - thanks

Hobbycraft sell ready made paper mache paintable numbers.

When I was in before Christmas they'd lowered the prices significantly and I think that is a permanent lowering.

I heard of one idea where the table numbers are different photos of the couple holding up the number for the table and then placed in a frame, or mounted on card and put in a table holder.

Thought that would be quite clever and a real talking point! If you have no particular theme it wont look out of place.

I saw this after I had got married, or I may have used it myself!

You could buy wooden free standing numbers (if you are numbering the tables instead of naming them) and spray them to your colour scheme?
