Can't settle on a dress :(

mocha, 14 March, 2011 at 14:34 Posted on Planning 0 6

I have tried on a number of dresses and to tell u the truth I can't settle on one. So many look nice but I can't pick.

My wedding is going to be small and although at first I was looking at dresses (any) and deciding which one I liked best, in the end I thought I would rather have a dress which doesn't double it's size on the bottom half because I will take up most of the venue and I want something less big despite how nice it looks.

So when I went shopping the following too looked really nice on (the first one looks really sparkly in real life and the picture does not do it well):

I absolutely loved in and I emphasis, it looks really big on the lower half, maybe because I am thing. Anyway, I decided I didn't want a big dress (I particularly liked the top half) but I didn't want to buy a big dress because I wanted to feel lighter. Also it cost £600 and I don't want to spend more than £300 anymore.

I also tried this one on:

I loved this dress. It didn't look so big the lower half in person, whereas the picture does. However, it has been discontinued and I don't think anyone has it.

So then I went to another shop to try something that was less big at the bottom half and tried on a Maggie dress like this:

and I loved it because it didn't come out so much but the price tag was high.

I would love to have a simple dress (such as satin material and no lace or a bit of lace) like this:

I don't have much time though and I have gone to most places in my area and now looking to find online but it is all to overwhelming. Smiley sad I'm thinking of getting a non traditional dress or a coloured one from somewhere like Monsoon or Selfridges but I haven't found anything online yet. Some look to old for me and I'm quite young.

    Hi Mocha,

When are you getting married? Also, do you like any of these dresses?

First 2 are from Coast, the 3rd from Debenhams - think it might be Coast aswell.

I like the bottom two. i have gone for a simple dress with the same kind of shape as the bottom one as the other style looked silly on me. when are you getting married?

Mine was £375, full price! Although i wangled a 10% discount aswel! It is just beautiful. Grecian floaty style, but fitted and lace up so still structured. Its an eternity dress from a wedding dress shop. d3074 if i remember rightly... Oh and looks so much better on than in pictures on net. Maybe worth seeing where eternity dresses are stocked near you?

I like the bottom two dresses but they are not totally the style i want because i like it to be fitted at the top half even a bit otherwise it looks too loose. i have a month.
