I have a Mercedes SLK 320 called Edna. Part of the number plate is 3VL which a friend took one look at and said "Evil", so I immediately thought Evil Edna, from a very old TV show called Willo the Wisp and it stuck lol. I even have Edna written on the number plate lol.

We have a ford mondeo called Alice. Two reasons, her number plate is ACU which reminded me of my mums first car ACE who was calked Alice and secondly, she's Alice in Underland because we got her from a garage in the middle of nowhere, under a bridge lol

I used to have a rusty old Micra and my friend named her Mo. My newer cars don't have much personality so I never named them, tho the same friend named my first Ka Mussolini as the reg began with something that looked like it should be Musso.

Our current car doesn't have a name l don't think? My first car which was a Polo was called Poppy. Because of the P for polo and because she was red.

My car is a peugeot 206. Oddly I have never named my cars (it seems more people do then don't)

I have a white Audi TT and she is called Boo because the end of the plate is BDO and from a distance looks like Boo!

We have a Volvo V70 called Frank as in Frank the Tank because he pulls like a horse.

I pick up my new car tomorrow (Corsa) and the first letters/numbers on the plate are VA6 - I shall name her Vag! ?

I have a little white Fiat 500 with green and red 'go faster stripes' and it's called Peach. ? I know it makes no sense to normal people but there is Mooshy-logic behind it. It reminds me of the little mushroom things from Super Mario Bros, but I didn't want to give it a boys name like Mario or Luigi so I called it Peach as in Princess Peach.

Our classic mini is called Matilda. She is almost 23 years old and as far as we are aware Matilda is the name that her very first owner gave to her (we are owners number 6).

I have a Peugeot 206 CC convertible which was my dream car growing up.

These days I call her '*** head'. Especially when things like my exhaust falling off happens (like it did on the way home from my exam yesterday).

My car is a 17 year old Fiesta called Frank Too. My original Fiesta was Frank.

I also had a 206 called Imelda and a 306 called Jojo as the number plate ended in JJO.

I have a VW Golf. I've never ever named a car. I know some people who have, but didn't realise it was the norm to do so!

I am not sure it is the norm....My mum named my Skoda Fabia Nikki because the first two letters on her number plate are NI. I had not thought to name her, I am not usually that sentimental, but my husband liked the fact that I had named my car so much that we have subsequently named both of his and now it would seem weird to own a car and not name it.

So far in my driving career I've had:

Marvin the Mini (a REAL Mini, not one of those STUPID, not even small BMW Minis)

We have a Fiesta, called Brian. Purely because when we first got it we only ever seemed to hear Brian Adams on the radio.

It's a bit embarrassing when I forget not everyone knows who/what Brian is.

I have a Hyandai i10, the reg ends in XHH so we call it Hexy!

According to oxforddictionaries.com defriend is indeed a verb and its definition is another term for unfriend.

I'm a VW fan and therefore it comes naturally to name my cars.

We have a Mazda MX5 in electric blue, her name is Carmen (as in Electra) .. she's going to live on a farm where she can run free and play with other MX5's shortly (if you ask OH who loves her - in reality she's going in to autotrader) as she has no back seats and only fits 1.5 bags in her booty. We spend our lives ringing up friends asking if they would mind swapping cars for the weekend.

My first car, a 13 year old rustbucket Nova, was called Jay as the reg plate ended JAY.

None of my cars since have had names. Maybe I'm not as attached to them as I was to Jay or maybe it's because they've had meaningless reg numbers.

I don't have Imelda and Jojo any more. Jojo was my first car and I had to swap her because she was so old and not up to my commute and then a Chav in a corsa kindly wrote Imelda off on the first day back at work after new year last year. Great start to 2013!

Should say I had an orange daewoo matiz previously which we fondly called the baked bean.
