Car holiday sulk

Stargazerlily2626, 28 August, 2009 at 11:43 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

We are supposed to be driving to Yorkshire on holiday today. I recently had a puncture and used the spare. My H went to the garage this morning to pick up a spare where they told him that the tyres all needed replacing and the brake pads are shot. I was very surprised as I have not noticed any problems with the brakes. Anyway the upshot is I am significantly poorer (not really the issue as the money needs to be spent) but more annoyingly it is going to take them a couple more hours to do the work. We are going to be leaving on a massively long journey mid afternoon on a bank holiday Friday it's going to be hell [:'(].

Better safe than sorry on the brake/tyre front, but that's no consolation when you want to get going I'll bet. The journey is going to be long but take it as part of the holiday, lots of snacks and music for the car and you never know it might not be as bad as you expect. Have a good holiday ?

Thanks. I didn't mention the toddler and the bust radio did I ?. Totally agree about the safety thing, no way we were going anywhere once they told us that regardless of how late it made us.
