Car windscreen

jen-lou, 30 March, 2014 at 17:49 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

Hi all, took advantage of the nice weather and got my car washed today. Once I was cleaning the inside I noticed the smallest chip in the windscreen ☹️. even though it is tiny, is it still worth getting auto glass out to fix it. I have checked and it's free on my car insurance and doesn't effect it any way. It is smaller then the tip of a pen, i'm just a bit worried itll end up being worse in the long run, wouldn't mind the cars not even a year old! ah well, these things happen hey.

If it's not going to cost you anything then get them out. They'll come to your work or home so it's not really an inconvenience

I once needed two new windscreens within one week.

Usually if the chip is small (not always) they can inject some special resin (or something like that) rather than having to replace the whole windscreen ?

I would definitely get it sorted straightaway before it gets worse.

Thanks guys. I've just had a look online and there is an autoglass centre about 2 mins away from home, so may pop in and see what they say.

Repair it now, for free if you are fully comp. If you don't and it cracks you'll have to get it replaced and depending on your excess could cost you £75-£100.

Would get it sorted soon as you can, you only need to be going 30mph for the wind to catch it and it will crack.
