Caracaturist?

Bittersweet, 17 April, 2011 at 12:07 Posted on Planning 0 8

Has anyone had an experience of a caracturist at a wedding?

We have been thinking about having one for the period after the Ceremony, someone to mingle and draw the guests whilst the photographs are being taken. We have seen some incredible ones and have had a few quotes of around £300 for 2 hours.

Is this reasonable for what others have paid for a caracaturist?

We have been able to cut back in other areas and have a free hairdresser and TOG.. I know it's expensive but is it worth justifying?

Any info, advice or recommendations would be great, thanks!

    Thanks tinkerbelly ?

Think I might book one. Just something a little bit different and sometimes the time between the ceremony and wedding breakfast can be a bit of a lull. I'm sure our guests will find it funny.

Hi! There was a similar post a few weeks ago and I recommended Mike Giblin Studios! Have a look at his website:

Hi, There are plenty of good caricaturists around. Obviously if you book a non-local one you will have to pay travelling expenses for him/her, etc. For a local one you should be paying local prices. I charge £75.00 per hour for a minimum of a two hour booking. If you go for a caricaturist who performs all over the country then £100.00 per hour is about right.

    His work is brill!

I'm also thinking of having something similar at our wedding, does anyone know this guys cost? I'm based in Glasgow - do you have to pay travel expenses on top of his fee?

I've seen some brilliant Caracaturists so I think they're well worth the money. But I'd be interested in your photographer being free?! Have you been able to pull in some favours?
