Caribbean cruise....

rach046, 13 February, 2015 at 14:04 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 1

We are looking in to a wedding on a cruise ship but unsure of the legal stuff. If I get married at sea is this recognised as a legal marriage in the uk? Thanks.

I would say to contact your registry office but I'd think it would be similar to couples who get married abroad, which is that they have to fill out some additional paperwork about their marriage in that country so everything is formalised when you get back home.

Friends of ours did this last year. I'm sure it was just some paperwork to fill out. We met them on a caribbean cruise (P&O ship around Eastern Caribbean) and they got married a few years later on the ship we'd been on. Sounds fab idea to me.
