Carpet Cleaning - Dull question

You can hire a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner from B&Q, Homebase, Johnsons, etc. Cleaning fluids are about £5 a bottle and you'll probably need 4 for a 2 bed house. Hiring the machine is quite cheap, about £20 + deposit. You can walk on the carpets fairly soon but they will be damp. Better to do them and go out for a few hours, especially in this weather as they should dry quite quickly.

If you walk on them you run the risk of the dirt in the backing soaking back up into the nice clean carpet. If you want to walk on them asap you'll need one of the professional cleaning places with the heavy duty machines

We hired a Rug Doctor from Tesco the weekend before last. YOu can find your nearest supplier here Cost us just under £40 for the machine and chemicals, brought up our very dirty carpets a treat. We did them late afternoon / early evening and left them overnight - they were only slightly damp within an hour of cleaning but by the next morning were totally dry. Definately worth using.
