Cat People - Help! O/T

Keltickurse, 17 March, 2010 at 23:55 Posted on Planning 0 10

Wondering if any of you can give me some advice.

I have two cats.

We went away on the weekend for three nights during which our friends stopped by every day to feed them and give them a little company.

Both cats were here every time my friends came over.

We arrived home on Monday and one of them has not been home since we got back.

My O/H was outside tonight listening to see if he could hear her crying in case she was trapped somewhere and hes pretty certain he saw her however when she saw him she ran away.

We've been away before, and she has never done this up until now,

Any idea why she might be doing this - or how we can get her to come home.

I used to have a cat not anymore...

I don;t think tbh they like change. My cat got VERY jealous after I had my son and buggered off for good not sayying yours has, but they are funny about anything which is different, I would just shake some of their fav kitty food and go looking your cat will come home

    xx

Don't worry....I'm sure she'll be back in her own time. She's probably been a bit confused that you haven't been there. When she realises you're back, I bet she'll reappear. Hang on in there.

Hi, We have 3 cats, when we go away we have a lady that comes in twice a day to feed them and to spend a bit of time with them. They are fine with this and are always waiting for her.

As soon as we get home Oscar sulk's and dissapears for a couple of day's. It's almost like he's punishing us for leaving him.

I'm sure your little moggie will show her face soon x

We went away for two nights last year and my brother popped in to feed our cat and let her out etc.

She did exactly this, she didnt turn up for him to feed her on the second night, and two nights of calling her and walking around the estate later, we caught a glimpse of her hiding and meowing but she wouldnt come to us. It was upsetting for the kids. It took about 4/5 days to get her back in, but we knew she was ok and she was hiding behind the house next door so she wasnt 'lost' as such.

Dont worry, your cat will be back when its hungry!

    X

From a big cat fan - I would pop around to all your neighbours and get them to check their sheds and garages, just to be sure.

I'm sure everything will be OK though!

I'd suggest putting food outside and leaving a window open but you might end up with a cat party!

Shaking their fav cat biccies or rattling a tin often tempts my kitty when she doesn't want to come home.

Thanks for the advice -Bit of an update

She's still not shown her face so i've posted leaflets through the doors of everyone on my street and the one whose gardens back onto mine.

I think someone must be feeding her because she hasn't come back for food not even when we're out (we have a catflap)

Unfortunatly i cant just leave food out to entice her because my other cat will eat it - hes very greedy! but i have been leaving milk - (her favourite) which has not been touched.

It just really annoys me that someone feeds a cat when it is quite obvious that she has a home (she has a collar with a nametag and our telephone number on in)? and she was still wearing these when o/h saw her.

I just wish she would come home ☹️

I'm sorry to hear that she hasn't come home yet. I dont want to upset you but have you rang your local vets just to make sure she hasn't been taken there.?

We've considered it but have decided to wait a little longer - our teleper otherhone number was on her tag so we're hoping we would have been called if she was with a vet. When O/H saw heer collar the other night she was still wearing her collar/tag which is why we think she's sulking with us for going away.
