Cat vs dogs...

Pittabre, 22 August, 2010 at 12:18 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 17

Why is it that you ahve to be either a cat person or a dog person? Its a question that people seem to ask and because we aheva huge dog and they see more of that they assume I'm a dog person, yet why do you have to be one or the other?

So which animals do you ahve and which would you associate yourself as being more of into?

BTW our dog is more like a cat and our cat plays fetch so mine as just as confused as me.

Well if someone were to ask I would say I'm a cat person but only because I have never owned a dog. I would love to own a dog but now I have a small child which slobbers on my clothes and yaps at my feet there is no need ?

I have neither. I don't like dogs at all so I suppose I would be a cat person rather than a dog person, however if I were getting a pet I would get a bunny or a hamster ?

I'm more of a cat person. Don't either as we're only renting, but I grew up with loads of cats and we briefly had a dog. I'd love to have both but I think you need to have lots more time and be at home with dogs more as well as having a lot of space (sorry if it offends but I'm not a big fan of little dogs so I'm only talking about big dogs). Cats are far more independent so therefore easier to own I imagine.

Appartently its the same with spiders or snakes that people prefer 1 or the other. Snakes get my vote, can't cope with spiders legs!!

I've always grown up with both, but we only have cats at the moment as we both work full(ish) time so it wouldn't be fair to have a dog.

Here are our three little tinkers.

Although I will add that my cats are probaly more like dogs, the eldest one will follow me to the local shop, wait outside the shop and then walk back to the house with me when I'm finished.

The sofa was an hour old, it had literally just been delivered (which is probaly the only reason it looks so tidy) and they all hopped on and claimed their spots. My cats like modelling for me, I think they've become quite used to the familiar camera flash in their face everytime they do something remotely cute. ?

This is when the little two were babies.

I'll stop with the crazy cat lady photos now.

Lol pittabre....your dogs cute! Our neighbour used to have a big dog that barked loads, think its actually dogs that bark I'm scared of as my uncle had an Akita, and my other uncle had a collie and I was fine with them!

We have dogs. I'm not really a fan of cats although have nothing against them I wouldn't want to own one.

I have three cats and one dog....they both have their plus points and bad points (the dog more than the cats ? so you can probably guess what camp im in!)

The dog reminds me of the dogs in the film UP .....'im a dog and i just want to play....oooh a ball'

whereas cats are so handsome, intelligent and so poised, i love my dog but i have sooo sooo much more respect for my cats.

I have 5 cats so yea I'm the crazy cat lady.

I wouldn't mind a small dog (have one as a child) however due to work / commute / life it just wouldent work. The cats entertain themselves and are find left for a weekend with someone popping into feed them. Ours also travel pretty well - we've taken 4 on holiday in the past to a cottage.

WSS - I guess it's because I've been brought up in a house that didn't like dogs at all (my mum has been bitten by dogs on 2 ocassions when she was a child) and weren't really into cats either, and we only had a rabbit, a hamster and fish as pets throughout my childhood.

I struggle to cope with the mess the 3 of us make without pets, so unlikely to have any in the near future!
