Celeb spots

jaz, 13 November, 2008 at 15:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 44

I have CS jealousy. Trust me to not be in London this week. My female crush of crushes was in my friend's work today, if only it was last week and I could have hotfooted it over and harassed her ?

The best celeb spot I have is Abi Titmuss and Father Jack from Father Ted. Wow me with your fab and crap celeb spottings...

Oh do tell us who it is!

My most famous celeb spots are Brad & Angelina, Bruce Springstien and Gwenyth Paltrow. All outside Claridges hotel.

I've also bumped into, literally bumped into Phil Mitchell from Eastenders.

I've spoken with Elle McPherson - dicussing underwear - and Uma Thurman's assistant.

It's probably not very exciting to anyone else but Holly Willoughby and she was apparently lovely and quite tiny IRL.

Ooh Brangelina, don't think I'll be spotting anyone like that round here anytime soon ?

When we were in London last weekend sleb spots were:

Janet Street Porter, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost all going into The Ivy. (Mr Wiz is a die hard Spaced fan so got his pic with Nick when he popped out for a ciggie, he recommeded us to have the Shepherds pie even if it was "a bit salty for his liking" ?)

And our not so great sleb spot of "Saracen" of old gladiators fame, walking through Piccadilly Circus.

    Fab:

I saw Ashley Cole with his dog (no not the lovely Cheryl?) down Portobello Road this weekend - he wasn't all that IRL, I thought he'd be drop dead gorgeous.

Also saw Richard Madeley a few weeks ago prancing around the lounge bar at the Landmark hotel in Marylebone - surprisingly more attractive IRL!

Lisa Snowden in the duty free shops at Hong Kong airport

    Crap:

A few weeks ago, Bruno Brookes in a cocktail bar in Reading - I was staring at him for ages wondering if it was Keith Chegwin before I twigged ?

'Sally from Home & Away' in the duty free shops at Hong Kong airport ?

Oh, and when I used to work down the Kings Road, I was forever tripping over slebs - Tinker from Lovejoy was one of my personal faves ?. Was very sad one time in Waitrose when I walked past a rather wizened old man who had bad jaundice and the shakes - I realised afterwards it was George Best ☹️

Hermonie Norris (Ros from Spooks) walked past me and H in Cannes last year, she was on her own and had gone by before i realised who the woman i vaguely recognised was.

Also we saw either Princess Beatrice or Eugenie (i'm never sure which is which) in convertible Bentley in St Tropez this year - we were people watching at one of the bars right on the quay in June last year and she stopped outside!

I saw Stephen Gateley walking down Oxford Street holding hands with a very dodgy looking bloke!

I saw Elvis Costello at the airport in LA.

I saw the guy who used to play Lenny in Eastenders in Boots in Derby (he now does the weather on the local news!)

You decided whether they are fab or crap?

I walked straight past jonthan ross. it was at a fair thing where he lives down south and i looked at him and thought to myself "i think i know him" then it clicked and the only person i could tell, who was with me at the time was my 4 year old and he was to concerned about how he got out of the tv ?

I have the most ridiculous amount of rubbish celeb spots. so i won't tell you them. the "best" ones are:

donald dewar (the first First Minister of scotland) - i walked into him, twice, in edinburgh. he apologised even though it was my fault both times.

one of the proclaimers (come on, nobody knows which one is which!) - again i walked into him in edinburgh. i was even listening to a proclaimers album on my walkman at the time.

the best of the best was saying hello to Paul Weller in cork airport a few months ago. i thought i knew him. it was only once he'd laughed at me that i realised who it was...

(oh, and i once spoke to cat stevens on the phone - he was objecting about his neighbour's planning application).

My celbs spots are cheats too - I used to work for an event secuirty company and was positioned back stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Edinburgh 2003, so met/saw the likes of Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguelira(sp), Black Eyed Peas, Kylie, Beyonce (she wasn't very nice - very up her own bum/diva like. We were told do not speak to her unless spoken too and if spoken to you must address her as Ms. Knowles! erm F off me thinks!), Vin Diesel, Travis, Pink ok so you get the idea!

A bad one/crap one was at Glasgow airport I saw american boyband O-Town (think poor mans Back Street Boys) and Blythe Duff (of "There's been a murder" Taggart fame).

    Luv Victoria

    xx

I forgot - all manner of cheaty edinburgh festival ones - i saw richard whitely in a greasy spoon eating a full scottish breakfast one sunday morning. and mark little outside the assembly rooms twice - two different years. i've forgotten loads more.

and the cringiest one.... andy gray (from Naked Video etc etc) once tried to take me home. ? my friend and i ended up in the citrus club with him, a mutual friend, and some pantomime dancer one night before christmas aaages ago. when i said no, and it was because he was old enough to be my dad, he wasn't very happy. he tried to take the bottle of lager he'd just bought me away from me.

    i'm too cool for school.

awww Teenybash - you are to cool for school and you have reminded me of another cheat one, which is very very chringe worthy indeed!

Again while working for the event security company at Hampden for a Scotland football match, after the match local radio football pundit Hugh Keavins came down from the press room roaring drunk and decieded I was lovely (well actually I am) and was a fantastic girl who he wanted to take home!! He kissed mt hand and hugged me while Derek Johnstone (ex Rangers player in the 1970's) desperately tried to drag him out the door and into the car waiting on them!! When my dad arrived to collect me at the end of my shift and I told him about it he told me I should told Hugh I was a season ticket holder at Ibrox (which I was at the time) and that would have turned him off me!!?

Oh what a life I used to lead pre marriage etc!!

    Luv Victoria

    xx

The 'OH My GODD that is sooo yoooou' man from Catherine Tate goes to my play group! The one from press gang. Lee Ross.

And the man who is Barnaby's side kick in midsomer murders (the short one), he used to come too.

Oh! And the woman who played 'Polly' about 500 years ago in Eastenders. She was a journo who shagged The bloke Tiff's brother was shagging.

And I don't even live in Clapham.

Charley Dimmock checking in at Eastleigh airport earlier this year - I originally thought at the time "cor, she's a dead spit for charley dimmock if a little more dumpy" only to realise it was actually her.

Christopher Milne (played Philip Martin in Neighbours) - I sat directly opposite him on the tube home one night.

Frank Finlay & Hannah Gordon - served them both in the shop where I worked in Weybridge as they both lived in the area.

My Favourite so far: Gok Wan - saw him this year as he was walking through my office at my previous employer who he has a link up with. I said "hello" excitedly and waved like a twonk. ?

H has spotted Des Lynam and Nasty Nick (BB1).

Best sleb spot, in fact you wouldn't call that slebs was Prince William & Harry in Pizza Hut in Swindon. Sean Bean came to Lyneham to do some filming for a film.

My favourite celeb spot was Dermot Oleary outside the BBC offices the day before my wedding. The git was on the phone otherwise I would have harrassed him for a photo.

Shaun Wright Phillips tried his hardest to chat me up in our club on NYE a couple of years ago. Bless him - he barely reached my shoulders!! ?

The same night I kissed Frank Lampard Happy New Year and tried to convince H to play the high stakes tables in the casino so I could get cloes to John Terry.

(most of the Chelsea team were there)

I can match CeliaWelia's Lenny from EE with my Huw from EE (in a chip shop in Penarth). My only other offerings are Lisa Riley at Malaga airport and Jordan at Gatwick airport.

My best celeb spot was Richard E Grant walking towards me in a tube station, he was wearing a dark suit and long trench coat and looking amazingly weird as per.

Hubby spotted the fella from Shameless (tough gangster type one don't know his name sorry) in public toilet at Hampton Court Palace last year.

Me and my cousin walked past Dexter Fletcher in London once and totally swooned but we were young and silly at the time!

I also used to date Joe Pasquale's PA type bloke so spotted many celebs when out with them - Eric Sykes was the best!

Mine are mostly rather dodgy, and some of them are from a long time ago...

Chesney Hawkes at a Crowded House gig in Hammersmith

Danny Baker walking along Tottenham Court Road scoffing a huuuuuge hotdog

Billy from DIY SOS stuck in traffic

Dominic Littlewood in our local Sainsburys

Almost got run over by Nigel from Eastenders (he jumped the lights)

Craig Charles at a gig at the Borderline

Jeremy Clarkson and J K from Jamiroquai (not together!) at Silverstone

    and my favourite...

Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode (back in the early 80's when they were first starting out) used to walk down our street and my friend and I used to stalk him - we were about 8 at the time ?

My brother works as Art Editor for the Radio Times so he has met loads of celebs, he recently posed with Oasis and managed to wangle backstage passes for their concert.

AND how could I forget!!! Hubby is an extra in the new Danny Dyer film - Malice in Wonderland.

I had dinner at a table next to Charlize Theron.

I saw Scarlett Johannsen and Josh Hartnett in my local Thai restaurant collecting a takeaway.

Chad Smith from Red Hot Chilli Pepers asked me about which taco he should order when I was in front of him in a queue in a mexican takeaway.

I see Adam Rickett, who was Nick in Coronation Street, about quite a lot, as he lives locally to me.

Nikki Graham from BB (looked thoroughly miserable)

Jeff Brazier (dressed like an idiot)

Rupert Grint (very sweet, happy to have his photo taken with my son)

I've just got back from a late lunch at my local pub and Joe Calzaghe was there. Looked like he was getting interviewed, as there was lots of men in suits with laptops etc asking him questions.

It's the second time we've seen him there, the first time he was having lunch with his Dad and a few other blokes.
