Center Parcs (again!)

Houdini, 3 September, 2010 at 14:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

I'm looking at booking up for H as he turns 30 in March so thought people could buy him things to do there for his birthday (whilst I head to the spa!).

What's the best accomodation? As in, is it worth the extra for a woodland villa or are the comfort plus ones ok?

TIA

When i was looking into this i found it was quite expensive and they wont let you go mid week.

I found that going abroad was cheaper.

Do you definatly want centre parcs or would you consider abroad?

You can go for 4 nights Mon - Fri and the top villa was £359 with the others ranging between £249 and £329 which I didn't think was too bad.

I have just looked at abroad but wasn't sure where was hot at that time of year. But even short haul hols were coming in at about £400 each still.

Not set on CP but don't want to spend ££'s.

You could get 4 nights Self catering in greece/turkey/spain for about 200 quid.

have you looked on BA.com holidays and teletext holidays?

Centre Parcs is my idea of HELL!

The Woodland Villa's will have better decoration, newer appliances/furniture etc, but will have essentially the same 'stuff' as a comfort plus. I can't remember what the best accomodation is called - the wesbite will list it. There are plenty of activities people could contribute to as gifts. You'd probably have to book them and then money back from people though - if you don't pre-book some things tend you get fully booked.

I went to Longleat about 6 yrs ago with the ex. We stayed in one of their apartments. I'm sure it was cheaper than the lodges and villas, and was plenty big enough for 2 people.

We have just booked 4 nights mon-friday end of september - when i first looked the basic comfort accomodation was £319, comfort plus £349 and woodland lodge £419

I then looked a couple of days later and the woodland lodge has dropped to £319 - so same as comfort plus - H had to ring to book as there was a problme with the website and they gave us a larger woodland lodge for £299!!

Admitidly we are booking only 3 weeks in advance but might be worth ringing and seeing if they have any deals.

See, I can't find these amazing deals!

H does like the sound of CP, but obviously if we could get a short break in the sun I'm sure he'd love that too!
