Centerpiece trial *FLASH*

Mrs Bass, 22 September, 2010 at 09:52 Posted on Planning 0 8

Ive just been to visit my mum for a couple of days and since im using her spare room and my wedding HQ we decided to get all the bits ive bought so far for the centre pieces and see what they look like. She has let me have free rein (sp) of her cake stands, tealight holders and candle stick holders which is great! She also ran in to the garden and came back with a bunch of hydrainger heads to add a bit of floral colour to our mock ups too! There are still a couple more we need to create but i thought id get some Hitched opinions so far! Im aiming for an eclectic and slightly vintage look! The frames will have the table names in, the pillar candle will be plain (considering battery operated tealights for the ones close to flowers) and they wont be on the black place mat! What do u think.....

I love the bottom one but with floralytes in the vase, similar to the 3rd vase down . You can pack the hydrangeas in the vase so that the light comes through the flowers hiding any mechanics!

I am in love! This is what I want, including the hydrangea heads. May have to start becoming a regular on the car boot sale scene for vases and stands!

Oh yay, such a positive response! thanks ladies! ?

most the frames are from Laura Ashley but these started to get a bit pricey so the really shiny one with the candle sticks is from Dot com gifts (we are thinking of getting a matt silver spray paint so it fits in better)

the glass bowl in the fourth pic and 2 of the candle sticks are from there too. The bottom bowl (looks a bit like a cake stand in the pic) was actually a 25th wedding anniversary pressie my parents received and it has their names engraved on it. I also have (but not in any of the photos) a glass rose bowl my grandparent received as a 25th anniversary pressie im hoping to use! The first vase was from a boutique in Belfast they are actually about 3 inches tall.

Great minds Sherrie, the 3rd photo is a cake stand with gold ta light holders on top. we put a ta light in and then the hydranger head (this is when we got the battery tea light insperation!)

Oooooh Sherrie that is so pretty!! I love th flowers!!!

what a cool idea to use an empty frame! My mum keeps mentioning mirrors to put everything on to and i know these will reflect the light and look pretty but im concerned about things being too shiny! i kinda feel that 'vintage' should be more matt. Is that just silly?!

Nope you could even use old silver trays or salvers which would look even more authentic. The whole thing with Vintage is that nothing has to match so you could use a different idea for each table which would look really cool!
