CENTERPIECES - FLASHES PLEASE!! :)

Emotionalwreck2013, 16 February, 2012 at 10:52 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello all,

I am really really really stuck on centerpieces - I am having a NYC themed wedding and ideally would like a tall centerpiece.

I have looked at martini glass vases but they are really expensive to buy. Luckily I have found a local shop where you can hire them at £5 per vase.

Now if i was to go with the martini vases, what can i fill them with? Gerberas are my favourite flower and would ideally like them within the decoration.

I also looked at using apples to replicate 'the big apple' but again i am struggling to find a centerpiece that i like and isnt too expensive.

I dont fancy having loads to do before my wedding day - so silk flowers would be best for me.

Any help or ideas would be fantastic.

If you could flash your centerpieces too please just in case I see something else I like.

Thank you Smiley smile

Do you have a theme colour?

I cant add pics as at work, but for a start, I'd use crystal accents (small crytals you soak in water to make jelly that looks like ice, or jelly balls the size of marbles) in the glass with a floralyte (a small light thats waterproof & can sit at the bottom of the vase to light it up). Both these come in various colours, or just have them plain. They really add a wow factor to the vase part.

As for the top of the glass, I'm not sure. Gerbera flower heads floating at the top?

What colour them are you having? Think the floating apples with flowers on top look lovely. X

Sorry I don't have a flash as it's just an idea....

What about placing a cutout skyline inside the martiniglass and have crystals inside with candles so the outline stood out? You can always have flowers coming out the top or around the bottom. Could also have another outlines around the bottom of the glass.

These are ours (minus flower arrangments), gel filled with simple uplighter underneath. I think they would suit a NY theme perfectly too ?

Something like this and then you could cut holes in the windows for the candlelight to shine through.
