Centre piece idea

tinkissarah, 12 June, 2011 at 18:53 Posted on Planning 0 1

I wondered if anyone could give me a bit of feedback with my idea for centre pieces. They are the one thing that I really can't decide on but I've had an idea.I want my centre pieces to be fun and also people to remember them. I had to really think about what one of my best friends had for hers before I remembered.

I had this idea of getting a 3 tiered cupcake stand or something similar. We can have the picture frames we are having for the table name photos (Derby County Legends) on the top tier and then I wanted to have the bottom 2 tiers covered in things the guests can either take home, play with during the reception or eat. Things like packs of card, chocolates, bubbles, table trivia games (get conversation between the guests flowing) and things people can keep like small soaps/lip balms for the ladies and cigars for the men. I'd also have some candles dotted around so these can be lit for the evening receptions so that we don't just have empty cake stands on the tables when the evening guest arrive.

Does this idea sound ok? Would it be something you would enjoy at a wedding?
And also any suggestions of things I could use would be much appriciated.

I love that idea, my best friend had things like, model planes, funny glasses with the nose attached, the little guys that have parachutes attached. The lip balm idea is brilliant. What about doing top trump cards for the guests but with pictures of your guests and info about them? You could get them to send a picture back with their RSVP!!!

I like the idea of having the little gifts etc for the guests but if I am honet I think you run the risk of the centres looking a bit tacky/messy with loads of stuff on them? Unless you can have them wrapped in something or all matching/same colour etc I dont think it would work.
