Centre Piece Inspiration needed....

sarahb3426, 9 November, 2010 at 16:53 Posted on Planning 0 18

Help!

I thought I had our centre pieces sussed, I was thinking along the lines of tall slim vases with Orchids in them (pink/purple) on circular mirror plates with little tea lights around them with small crystals etc, have found some pictures and printed off to show OH, but he doesnt like them!!! aargh!!!

I then found a picute of a small cube vases with a row of roses in it, which to me looked really pretty, but OH doesnt like these either as they are in cube vases on a round table!

Although he has given me his views that he doesnt like these, which is ok, he doesnt know what he actually wants and so now am stumped!

Please flash ideas/pics etc etc, I need something with a Pink/Purple theme.

Thank you ladies......

Oh, did i mention i need things that are not going to cost the earth?!?!

How about the trusted fishbowl look with pink/purple flowers in, then they are round on a round table?

Im having the same problem! Oh wants circular bowls with...wait for it...fish in them!! Fish! So im just going to decide by myself and not tell him haha, he will never notice lol. I like the idea of tall vases to with flowers in but they cost quite alot. Our florist will charge £25 per centre piece for hire of tall vase and just simple flower in!! x

    I am having these...

And these (but OH doesn't know about these yet lol!)

The lanterns were £7 from Ebay and the Orchids (in a white pot) are about £5 from ASDA!

Is it the idea of the orchids he doesn't like? If they're still a goer, it would be really cost effective to buy individul orchid plants for each table. You could then put thm in a pretty pot or decorate their pots, and then gift them as favours at the end of the evening.

OK, so the idea of the Ochids are out, it is the flowers my OH doesnt like - he doesnt like them being on their own in tall vases and isnt too keen on the flowers themselves ☹️

    So the hunt continues.......

A few different ideas for, there are lots in my albums under Centrepeices & Venue Decor. It sometimes helps when you see the rooms set up and see the sacle of the centrepieces:

I'm having tall vases filled with feathers and crystals, with a single calla lily and ostrich feather. Not sure about mirrors yet, will see what the centrepieces look like when I have made the first one.

My cousin had some really lovely centerpeices and they looked especially nice at night when they were lit. She got the lanterns from Ikea.

Im not using mirrors having organza table runners 12pound for 10 on ebay . im also putting a ribbon where the lid goes so you cand see the rim. be carful when u buy the jars if you want to light candles as some may crack i would suggest buying 1 and leaving a candle burning just to check the jars from asda are fine they are thick glass and i have tested them!

We're not having flowers for our centrepieces, we've having groups of church candles and couple of tea lights dotted about. Worked out much cheaper than a floral arrangement x
