Centre Pieces

MrsWood2b16, 29 May, 2015 at 13:02 Posted on Planning 0 12

What is everyone having for their table centre pieces. I'm looking for ideas. But I'm not looking to spend anymore than £20 - £25 per table really.

Has anyone found anything that's really effective but a reasonable price? Smiley smile

Something tall would be ideal as it's in a marquee, but I'm open to any ideas Smiley smile

Thank you xxx

    Do you have a theme?

My theme is Mediterranean ocean so I have fish bowl vases, with sand in, a sea foam candle and surrounded by shells!

If you can tell us your theme we could give you specific ideas?

I have some very simple fluted vases that will each have 5 roses in. Each table will also have 4 silver tealight holders. The table will be busy enough with bottles of wine, cutlery, glassware etc. and our room is stunning so we are keeping it simple.

    These are ours:

They were £20 to hire but I bought all the bits individually and was able to do them for about £7 each Smiley smile

You might get lucky in somewhere like The Range. I am only having flower centrepieces on half of my tables to try and keep costs down and found a really pretty candelabra/tealight holder that matched the stand for the flower arrangements really well. They were only £15 each which was a damn sight cheaper than the £55 flower arrangements and also they can be used/sold after.

Thanks everyone. We don't have a theme yet. Although I'm thinking quite vintage

I had circular mirrors, then tall vases with orchids coming out. Inside the vase I had a florylyte (a waterproof mini light) and crystal accents (a powder you mix with water and it makes large jelly things that look like ice in the vase). The florylyte lit up the whole vase and looked very pretty. Around the mirror I had small, tealights.

I bought the majority from ikea, charity shops and ebay. Don't have a picture though, sorry.

We're having a picnic/summer fete theme, we have got green (I think they look blue) kilner jars which will have gerberas in, we're also having a few tea light holders on the table. the jars were 3.50 at the range, they were more then double the price else where

if you'd like some height, a orchid in a nice pot would look good.

    Hi

We are also having a marquee and have gone for a vintage theme (partly because we have steam engines so it ties in! lol). I bought 10 x 60cm high candelabra from Ebay for £200 (£20 each) then have bought some pomanders (cream roses, which I will also add some pink to) for £5 each and my OH has fashioned a spike for the centre of the candelabras for the pomander ball to slide onto. I've also bought strings of pearls from The Range (£3 ish for 10m) and will hang these off the arms. So its ended up costing about £25 per centerpi3ce, but I was quoted about £30 to hire, so thought may as well do them myself and sell them afterwards!

Good luck! Im sure youll find something you like. Maybe as you're having a marquee, go for a country garden theme and use jam jars / string with artificial flowers in ? I'd also recommend Pinterest for ideas!

    xx

Ours cost the grand total of £1 each ?

They are a wood slice, with a milk bottle with wild flowers/sweet peas and a decorated jam jar with a led candle in and some beach shells on. Only cost has been the milk bottle vases, everything else is borrowed/up cycled or found.
