Centrepiece Idea

MrsFleckney2B, 24 February, 2012 at 17:03 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello Lovelies,

I met up with my florist earlier this week to start going over some final details. I had bought some cream pots to use as the centrepieces and along the top table, but after speaking to the florist, she thinks the pot with a big ball of gyp will be too big and our guests won't be able to see each other. It was going to be similar to this:

So, queue major flower stress, as i thought that I had the flowers all sorted out! But, after speaking to my Mum, she had found these pictures:

So, I've now decided to go with this idea instead, and to be honest I think that it will go with our theme of vintage garden party/cricket teas better, as the gyp looks more freshly picked and just placed into the mismatched vases. I've already got plenty of jars to use, and my Nan has just given me a couple of vases to get started.

What do you honestly think?

Sophie xx

I think gyp looks beautiful but I am sure somebody mentioned some time ago it doesn't smell pleasant so worth taking into consideration.

Ha! I've heard this a lot, and said to my florist about it, she said that she sprays it with something to stop it from smelling! I've also got vanilla smelling tea lights!

Thank you though, how awful if you didn't know!

I love it and think it looks so pretty so it is great if you can use it and get round the odour problem. It would be bad if you didn't know imagine the guests faces? I have some daffodils in my kitchen and they whiff of pee, I was looking everywhere for this smell thinking my son had an accident ?
