Centrepiece opinions pls

Han85, 19 October, 2010 at 16:10 Posted on Planning 0 24

I really need to get my butt in gear and have started this week.

First task is deciding on my centrepieces as left it this late the one i wanted are now not available!! :-(

Could you all give opinions on these two and which you prefer for winter wedding. The feathers would be white.

Let me know thoughts.

I prefer the first one, and I think it would look stunning when you lower the light levels for the evening - all those twinkly lights, very winter wonderland❤️

BUT I would change the colours of the feathers and bits and pieces to a pale ice blue or white/ silver. What colour scheme are you having? Could you tie that in?

Haha yeah i would def have the feathers white! Although my scheme is purple/white/silver im not a fan of the purple feathers.

But thinking the same with the lights dimmed could be quite nice x

Do you think the one on the left would look nice with something in the vase as at the moment its empty. OR would that be overkill? x

They are both nice but alot depends on the look of your room, and also the ceiling height. The feather one could look a bit odd in a room with a low/normal height ceiling as its pretty tall - the twiggy one is really nice tho'!!

Do you have a photo of your reception meal room?

I prefer the crystals trees but I am biased as I am having a take on these at our wedding, not as centrepieces, we are having them on columns either side of the aisle and then using them as escort trees instead of a table plan but we are having ribbons on them as well as crystals to make them more colourful as I think the all crystal ones are more suited to a winter wedding and ours is in June !

I am making them myself but you can hire them at www.crystaltreeboutique.co.uk but they are not cheap from there, if you google them a few options come up.

I prefer the feathers. The crystal branches are annoying after being a guest at a wedding that had them it was off putting having to move all the time to speak to people.

I did one a few years ago that you could adapt:

They had the twig lights in Asda this week, think they were about £10.00 maybe cheaper.

I like the one on the left and I love the purple feathers, I think that's what makes it stand out so much. The one on the left or having the white feathers I think looks too cold. I know it's a winter theme but you also don't want it to appear cold to people when it's not IYKWIM. Not everything has to be white, silver, ice blue etc to be wintery. I do like them both but I think the first is better.

Thanks Sherrie will send OH to Asda tomorrow to have a look for the twig lights.

Laura SJ - was it you who was having the ones from Bows Hire? I wanted there manzantie (sp) trees but they are not not available on my date boo!! So trying to find an alternative.

Its the lights/candles which i love in both designs as want lots of lights.

The two suppliers are crystaltreeboutique and stressfreehire.com x

I cant quite make out the one on the right, does that have things hanging from branches????

I prefer the feather version but not sure about twigs AND feathers.......

twigs in a vase or feathers in a vase.

Yeah it has a couple of tea lights hanging on it.

I think i might see if they can mock up a version with out feathers. My only concern is that the vase is empy and then therre will be random twig ends near the top. Not sure if would look bit messy. x
