Centrepieces....???

NatGlenn89, 24 January, 2013 at 13:22 Posted on Planning 0 11

I'm looking for ideas for centrepieces...

My theme is lace and pearls, bridesmaid colour is emerald green, my first thought was birdcages but I am struggling to find big enough ones in my price range Smiley sad I would like to keep the centrepieces to less than £15 per table if poss (I know it's a stretch but with a bit of imagination I think its do-able as I'm not too fussed about shed-loads of fresh flowers).

I want to find something a bit quirky and vintage, maybe mis-match vases filled with something?? Any ideas would be massively appreciated! Smiley smile

How about square white wicker baskets with a mix of herbs in which will give you the colours and they can also be given away afterwards. You can glue lace or pearls around the edge if you wanted. Or another idea is wicker cups and saucers with herbs in. The cups and saucers might break the £15 budget but the square baskets shouldn't.

For our top table I am collecting different jars and wrapping lace around them for candles.

What about teapots with flowers in or tea cups?

I'm also making button trees for the other centerpieces

Ooh it sounds very similar to our theme :-)

I am getting mini jam jars and wrapping lace around them with tealights in. I can't remember exactly how much they are costing but we are buying about 60 of the jars for not much more than £30 I think.

Also we went round local charity shops and have bought enough floral jugs to have one in the centre of each round table and are putting silk peonies and roses in them. I think it works out at around £15 per table if we include the tealight jars to go around the vases.

Ooh, I like the idea of the herbs, would match our colours and create a lovely smell!

Emma, where did you get the little jam jars? I have tons of lace and was thinking of doing something similar?

What could I fill vases with other than flowers??

    Have you checked ebay??

they always have lots of brid cages on there and if you were open to mismatched cages to give it more of a quirky feel you could get hem over a period of time.

The jam jars are from jamjarshop.com - I was originally thinking of having lids on some and filling them with pearls, you could maybe do something similar.... You can get different shape jars and different coloured lids etc

I bought these in black from ebay - they also do cream which would match your theme:

I'm using tealights, placing the cages on round mirrors and adding clip on sparkly white butterlflis to the frame as well as crystal butterflies on the mirrors. The whole lot cost around £15 per table.

Hi- you are so similar to me- we're emerald green as well! We were going to have birdcages and small flowers inside but decided the flowers were so pretty we'd have just the flowers and vintage books instead!

We found reasonable birdcages at dunelm- about £9 each!

    Some other ideas-

I'm going with birdcages for my centrepieces and I just bought mine at the weekend at dunelm mill in the sale for £5 each. I had to get a few different shapes but I liked that as I thought it was a bit quirky

I'm making paper roses and lilies . I started last weekend and we love them and love having them around the place. They're beautiful, I can't believe I made them. The plan is to collect wine bottles, soap of the original labels and print new ones with the table names and menu on. We'll then put three roses and three lilies in each one. Should be less than £1 each.
