Centrepieces and displaying tablenames

-*Jo*-, 7 January, 2012 at 21:38 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello!

I'm trying to decide what to have for centrepieces on the tables, and also how to display the tablenames so that it is easy for people to see them. We are naming our tables after our 'firsts' (ie first holiday, first home, first date etc) and so had it in my head that I would have a picture relating to the tablename and then a couple of sentences explaining it. All seems quite straight forward in my head until I start to actually visualise how this will work!

I don't think I want flowers for the centrepieces which narrows down the ideas (although could be swayed on this if I saw something I really like). Went to the range today and found a stand with a heart on the top that holds a tealight which I really liked (typically it's not on their website or I would flash) but not sure how to display the tablename around it.

Anyway, what I am trying to ask is

- what are other people doing for centrepieces? (or OM's what did you have?!)

and

- does anyone have any ideas of how to display the tablenames.

Thanks!

If you are planning to place your 'first' items in a photograph/laminated style, have a chat to your venue as they might already have the tall stands for slotting these into so people can see. This was a wedding I did where they had their favourite films displayed in DVD covers and on the table plan, each table was named after a character from that DVD so the guests had a talking point to find out which table they were on. For example - Buddy - the character and Elf the film:-

The venue already had the metal slot stands which 'lifted' the table names up so people could see.

I have cream lanterns for the table pieces that are about 30cm tall and can have a candle in them - as my theme is butterflies i have big glittery butterflies to clip to the hoop at the top along with a wire that holds the table name...... ill try and flash when i can!

My table names are the same as the frames Abigiggle used.

For centerpieces am having a clear vase lined with pictures of our engagement shoot (abstract ones not of us posing) and 4 artifical roses with diamantés in
