Centrepieces - HELP! *Flash*

MissKB, 5 August, 2013 at 20:04 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hey brides

I'm after a little help please. I've bought some mini bottles with the idea of putting them round my hanging lanterns for my centre pieces. I've got 98 bottles so probably have enough for around 10 per table. My issue is deciding what to put in the bottles? My initial idea was to put maybe some sand in them to weigh them down, and then some kind of flower in the sand. But I'd quite like something I can do leading up to the wedding so that I don't have to worry about filling them with fresh flowers the day before the wedding!

Any ideas? Hopefully these flashes work to give you an idea. The bottles are really small so I'm quite restricted

What about glass beads or jellybeans in your wedding colour(s)? You can get loads of small beads cheaply on eBay in lots of colours. x

Wow you have ages till your wedding day, plenty of time to decide on this. I like the idea of tiny coloured beads, or you could use them as the name tags for the place settings, you could tie some thin ribbon round the top of the bottle and add a little label to the ribbon with the persons name on. x

If you have enough they could be used as your favours? you could fill them with sherbert in different colours to match your theme? and maybe a label? also you culd get loose wax and fill them up and put a wick in them? you could have loose wax in different colors and it could be lit later on in the evening or given away as gifts

Love the nametag idea. What about shades of sand?

What about artificial flowers & stick with your original idea? Or, maybe get some nice white lace ribbon (thick bit to cover most of the middle of the bottle) & then 'borrow' GinaB's idea of skittles flavoured vodka inside! ? Of, if you can't get ribbon, you can get laser cut paper that could also do the job or even just any nice design paper that you can cover the 'main' bit of the bottle. Failing that, perhaps coloured tissue paper in the bottles? Or, make a candle out of them with the home kits - might be a bugger to get the wick into it though as the neck is so narrow - would be lovely though, you could do different designs & attach a tag to each one that says 'take me home' as the favours?
