Ceremony in ibiza, but do I have to get married in uk before, or can I do it when I get back

MrsPowerToBe, 23 May, 2013 at 22:58 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 2

Hello brides

I expect this is an obvious one.

im planning a wedding for this September, and ideally we want our registry office marriage when we return, not before we go.Is this ok?

help - I think it's fine, as we are not having a catholic or Anglican ceremony.

Any advice welcomed

    MrsPowerToBe,

Of course, that is okay,as long as you feel convenient, and your other time line should also be considered...?

    Congratulations!!!

    Hi,

You do not have to have an official ceremony in the UK before the 'wedding' as it will not be official here, the ceremony performed on Ibiza will focus on you as a couple and be very personal 'a marriage of 2 hearts'. If you choose a good celebrant that is!!

    Enjoy the planning!

    Hi,

We got married in ibiza on the 22nd of June, but 'officially' got married in a registry office on the 17th of June & flew out that night, it worked well for us as we wanted to be officially married when we returned. The ceremony in ibiza was beautiful & more romantic where's we felt the registry office was just singing the papers.

    Hope that helps.

    Sam
