Ceremony music

louisepalmer79, 21 March, 2011 at 15:46 Posted on Planning 0 2

Ok, I have tried to find an answer to this on good old Google but am failing miseably! Does anyone know/have an idea how many songs we will need during the ceremony (civil) if we need music for a) when guests arrive b) during the signing of the ceremony and c) leaving the ceremony?

We have to send all our choices of to the registrar for 'approval' and I have no idea where to start or how long each section will need.

I've sorted out the music for walking down the aisle (Butterfyl Waltz by Brian Crain) so that at least is one thing off my tick list!!! ?

    Hi Louise,

Ceremonial music can be quite stresful to a couple as the ceremony is the most important part of your special day,

The main musical elements of the ceremony are the tracks played before you arrive, as you walk down the aisle, the signing of the register and again as you walk back up the aisle as a married couple.

So to confirm, yes I would reccomend playing tranquille background music while your guests arrive, a song as you walk down the aisle, a song as the register get signed and a different song walking back up the asile as a married couple.

    I hope this helps

    Adam

I've no idea if we had music as the guests were being seated, I wasn't there ?

Signing the register/photos took us about 7-8 minutes - we had an instrumental version of One Day Like This by Elbow which is 6 minutes long and it finished. We then had some of the acoustic version of Everlong by the Foo Fighters. So I'd suggest picking about 10 minutes worth of music.
