I have just found out that we need to choose 5 songs for the registry office and have no ideas!! We need one to walk in to, three for the register signing and one to walk out to. What music have others gone for??

Hi, I need to know the same thing. I am clueless... Are you having any readings? My sister wants to do one but nothing too traditional and stuffy xx

Not even thought of readings!! I did go to a wedding this summer which had a reading but I wasn't too keen on it. It was a homemade poem (which isn't our cup of tea) so I think that's why I wasn't keen. I do think there are some lovely reading ideas to be found online.

Do you think it would add something personal to your ceremony? If so, go for it x

    Hi Ladies..

I'm walking into Elton Johns "Your Song" not sure whether to have origional/new version or instrumental...

Then we're having the john lewis advert song "Never tear us apart"

Followed by the twinnings Tea advert (LOL) Wherever you will go..

Stuck on 3 more and then we might exit to The Beetles "All you need is love"

    x

I can't believe I've never got that before, I'm normally obsessive about lyric meanings! I was thinking maybe that as instrumental walking in but gone off it now. Although my sister's singing Make You Feel My Love and the lyrics to that aren't extremely weddingy. It works for me because it's how I imagine OH felt before we got together, haha.

Walked in to the Pachelbel's Canon in D - really cliche but I think wonderful and so emotive for me.

Signing the register and all those bits

    All you need is love

    Wonderful world - louis armstrong

    Flower duet (BA theme)

and we walked back down the aisle to Viva la vida by Coldplay

all string quartet so sounded amazing

Have never heard that but lots of websites have it as a popular choice. Just gone online to hear it and it is BEAUTIFUL!! I think I may have a winner for the entrance. Thank you x

We are getting married in a church so will have the traditional wedding marches etc. However, during the signing of the register we are having Elbow -One day like this, Louis Armstrong -What a Wonderful World and Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats.

this came ont he radio and i told my friend it was one of my funeral songs and she informed me she wanted it to walk down the aisle! oops!

she had her cousin sing it and it was beautiful and i wasnt thinking about death!

    We had:

    entrance: Sigur Ros, Staraflur

register: The wannadies, You & Me Always; Fortune Drive (a local band) & Stevie Wonder, signed, sealed, delivered

exit: Frank Sinatra: I've got the world on a string

quiet a mix but the each meant something to us or we appropriate to us!

    We are having

Walk in - Westlife Flying without wings

Register - Jason Mraz, I wont give up. Matt Cardle, First time ever I saw your face, Somewhere over the rainbow by a big fat chap with a long name that I cant remember right now but the version is in 50 first dates

Walking out - The Beatles, All you need is love. Bit predictable but my fiance is scouse and I was only allowed Westlife if he had The Beatles! We are following this with Can you feel the love tonight (the actual version from the Lion King with Timon and Pumbaa talking at the beginning !:-) and The Beach Boys God Only Knows what I'd be without you although that might change after we see the registrar tomorrow as I've heard even the word God is not allowed by some registrars. The reason for 3 songs is that we are standing at the door to shake everyones hand etc as they leave the room and so dont want them queuing in a silent room!
