Ceremony stuff

Pompey, 10 January, 2012 at 19:33 Posted on Planning 0 10

Okay, so yesterday was proclaimed 'Wedding Day' by OH - well, I went mad. We had a meeting with the Venue (went marv) and afterwards we went to Hobbycraft for supplies and popping into the cake lady and the Groom's wear shop. When we go home we emailed the photographer and then organised payment to the Registrar for the final balance. anyway, when making payment to said registrar, she reminded me that I need to fill in the pack for the ceremony. We have chosen the words for the vows, that was easy and so far we have chosen the processional music (Eva Cassidy, Songbird) and exit music (Buble - Everything).

I was wondering what music people are having a) when people are arriving and b) signing the register/photos?

Thanks in advance. OH isn't really into music you see....

Edited to add:

Also, what readings are people having?! And who by?! Smiley sad

This is where I'm stuck, although at the moment the OH is just fed up of the wedding - even though he hasn't done anything yet! I did try and nail him down on this this weekedn but no - maybe try again soon. Sorry didn't really help.

They posted it to us not long after we'd paid our deposit.

This was the bit I found the hardest.

I gave up on the seating music as everyone will be chatting anyway. haha

No readings for us. Nice and simple, and no obliging friends or family who probably would rather not but agree to do it out of politeness. Haven't started on music yet but will probably go for mostly instrumentals. I think I would find 'weddingy' pop music a bit tacky for the ceremony- maybe have a couple at the reception.

We are having a Lovely Love Story by Edward Monkton read by my little brother but slightly adapted, then Captains Corellis Mandolin read by my friend (she chose this one).

    Songs for guests arriving

Chasing cars snow patrol, This is love by Kelly Rowland (lovely words if you listen) Kissing You from Romeo and Juliet, Songbird and Neverfelt this way by Alecia Keys.

    For signing register

Make you feel my love - Adele, Your Song Ellie Goulding, Better together by Jack Johnson.

    Hope this helps

We've just decided on ours, finally!

while people are gathering we have a mix of the beatles (In My Life), Oasis (Let there be love), The feeling (Rose) and a couple of others. For signing the register we have Oasis again (She is Love), the intro song to Juno (All I Want is You), and then Happy Together by The Turtles. On our exit we have Wouldn't it be nice by the beach boys Smiley smile

Bit of a strange mix, but suits us just right Smiley smile

ETA - oh, and we're having a reading called 'Love Monkey' by Edward Monkton and one called 'Snail Theory of Love' (me and OH are Monkey/snail mad respectively.. its weird but cute ?)
