chair covers

Annamarie, 30 September, 2011 at 22:07 Posted on Planning 0 6

This may be a really stupid question but when looking at chair covers do you only order enough for the ceremony and wedding breakfast or do you order enough for the evening reception too??

We have 50 for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast increasing to 100 for the evening reception so we are ordering 100 chair covers. so we'll have 50 in ceremony room, 50 in room for wedding breakfast and then adding those together for the evening reception.xx

I'd say for a wedding the size of Vicky's then you're as well doing it, if you've got a lot more guests I wouldnt bother.

But then I'm not bothering at all - lol the hotel chairs will do as they are!

Only one company up here does it and they're rooking folk for about £4 a seat - forget it!

We've got about 120 coming to the evening but only putting out 100 chairs. We just felt that f we were going to hire them then we'd have them for the whole day not just the ceremony x

We had 60 guests for the ceremony and breakfast then 100 in the evening. We didn't put out anymore chairs in the evening. So we just had 60 chair covers.

Not everyone is going to sit down, people will prop themselves up at the bar, dance etc.

If you're marrying in a hotel or licensed venue, do consider that you'll have two extra chairs for the registrar and their assistant, so you may want to cover them for consistency. Also, some venues will put out a few more chairs to even up the rows. So check this as you'll obviously want those covered up too.

It is entirely up to you, if you can afford it and want extra in the evening then the chair cover people will cover them at the same time and the venue usually store them until they change the room around. We are doing this for a Hitcher today.

Not everyone will be sat down in the evening and most will be propping up the bar or dancing!

Yes, again it's totally upto you and your budget and numbers really.

Most of our customers tend to go on a 80% rule for the evening because as you say not everyone will want to be seated at any one time.

E.g if you had 50 in the day and were inviting another 70 to the evening I personally would cover 100 covers in all.

Thank you for all your help. We are only having 35 for the wedding ceremony and breakfast and then 70 for the evening so I guess 50 covers should be enough and I suppose in the evening like you say people will be too busy drinking and dancing to be bothered whether or not their seat has a cover or not.
