Chair covers!

gillianp72, 17 June, 2013 at 19:16 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi all

I'm thinking of hiring chair covers for the big day but didn't realise how expensive it is! Has anyone tried DIY ones as they work out a lot cheaper, but just wondering how long they take to put on, tie the sash etc.

any advice greatfully received! Wedding is in 46 days time so not leaving it to the last minute at all!!!

Not sure where you are gillianp72 but there's a company in Basingstoke Hampshire called events for you and they charge about £3 per chair, depending on what you have. http://www.eventsforu.co.uk/chair_cover_hire.html Not sure how long they take to put on but I'm sure most companies will be able to set up on the morning of your wedding

    Hi gillianp72,

Chair covers can be very expensive but not all of us are. I offer the high quality stretchy nylon lycra covers, with lycra band and diamante buckle for £2.75 per chair. For just 50p per chair extra I will ensure the covers are set up for you. I do charge for delivery and collection for venues over 15 miles from Redhill in Surrey.

If you go for the DIY ones, as you don't dress chair covers for a living, I would advise that you would need to allow about 2-3 minutes per chair. If you have a dining chair similar to the chairs at your venue, get all the bits for one chair cover and practice at home and see if you can reduce the time. That way you will also know how you want the sashes tied as well.

I hope that helps a little bit

    xx

I found a lovely lady that blows all the other greedy chair cover hire companies out the park! We are paying £66 for 100 chair covers including sashes. There was no way I was going to pay £2-£3+ for a chair cover!

If you want her details I can pass them on depending where you are based
