Chair covers

murphy88, 28 July, 2013 at 11:58 Posted on Planning 0 7

Right another thing that I am confused with (atm it doesn't take a lot!)

Can i ask how much you are paying for chair covers? (also how many chairs is that for?)

- Ive been quoted a few but have nothing to put them agaisnt if there expensive etc..?

what is best lycra or loose or fitted chair covers?

The sashes satin or organza (how ever its spelt) or taffetta (again not sure of spelling!)

Thanks in advance!

Ours are included in the deal that we've got provided by the venue, I'm not sure how much they work out at each. I don't think there's a better or worse for the type of chair cover that you go for, it all depends on the look that you want, and which chair cover would work best for the chairs that you have really. I imagine that the lycra ones might be limited to certain types of chair?

When it comes to choosing the sashes, I'll be looking at our colour scheme and just choosing whichever sash compliments whatever we have in place already. Sorry, I realise that was probably no help whatsoever, but I think choosing what you go for is probably quite personal to your own wedding.

We are £226 for 90 chairs covers and sashes. I guess location maybe makes a difference - we are in NE Scotland.

We are going for the fitted covers as that is what the company said works best for the chairs at our venue. I am not sure what I would of picked if they hadn't recommended the fitted ones.

Agree with the first reply - sashes really does depend on your won personal choice and what you feel fits with your wedding. We are having hessian sashes and also lace ones to go over the hessian.

We've had difficulty with this, we had to book with the venue's own supplier and they quoted £350 for 65 chairs in the reception room and 65 in the ceremony room, they wouldn't switch the ceremony chairs to the reception room as it is already set up.£350 is way over our budget for that and they are conference chairs so can't really get away without them. My SIL suggested something genius: only have the chair covers in the reception room as people look at it and see how it is set up, whereas the ceremony room, everyone just finds their seat and sits down.

I had a few different quotes ranging from £1.50 to £3.00 per chair, some including fitting them some didn't. I settled on a local couple who are doing them for £1.50 per cover and £0.50 per sash, including fitting.

As for which covers are best I think it depends on the chairs at your venue. We're having fitted ones because the loose ones didn't look right on our chairs (that was OH's contribution to the planning). I have no idea what the sashes are, probably organza.

Ours are provided by the venue and are £2 per chair including set up. I think the chepaest D.I.Y ones from an extrenal company were £1.99 anyway!

We are having the loose fitting ones and organza sashes.

Went to a wedding recently with the lycra ones and didn't like them much, you can't put your feet under your chair :/ ...Makes it quite difficult to pull your chair in Smiley atonished

    Maybe that's just me...

We spent ages deciding on whether we needed them, then even longer finding someone competitive. We eventually booked 86 lycra at £86 including sash, set up, collection and cleaning. With a £30.00 security deposit due for damages.
