Hi everyone. ?

looking for some opinions regarding chair covers...

I have a navy/white theme and dont know whether to hire white chair covers with navy sash...

As they are the chairs are normal burgundy banquet chairs with gold (bronzy) rim.

Has anyone had them at theirs and highly recommend them ?

or is it a bit of a waste of money and not worth it?

Will cost me about £100 for 40 chairs...

Thanks x

Also without wanting to turn this into a bitching session, i have to say i agree with Sherrie on this one.

we charge £3.00 per cover this year and have to charge delivery if we are travelling or sending them by courier which i prefer not to do as they dont always arrive pristine regardless of how much time i spend pressing them at this end.

for that £3.00 i have to wash, dry and press the covers, store them, take them to venues and put them on, i have a couple of saturday girls who sadly wont work for free and then get them collected back again either by my OH which costs fuel or by courier, again sadly not free

i wish i could afford to do covers cheaper but dont really see how its feasible, one question i will ask thought Zoe is this, is the chair covers your main business or do you do it part time? i think when its paying your mortgage, and keeping your kids in the latest must haves you may be inclined to charge a little more as i'm sure Sherrie will no doubt agree

not wanting to add fuel to the fire, just giving an honest opinion from a suppliers point of view

    Tracy xx

I completly understand what you are all saying. However my business is for those that are doing things DIY unlike yours and Sherries, where you set up etc. If I was doing that then there would be no point what so ever.

I have made my self look a bit of an idiot because I have read back and looks like I have said we charge £1.25 all the time this is a special launch price for 2009. Our prices atm are £2.50. we are having a new big site designed

Tracy - I am lucky enough not to have to pay a mortgage. This is not our only business as the family also have another one.

We opted for chair covers which our venue supplied plus a brown sash to match our pink and brown colour scheme.

Otherwise the chairs were a deep purple.

Being in planning, but not offering chair covers from our business; I have seen the pros and cons.

Pros - they can look fabulous

Cons - one of our brides was let down on Saturday by a supplier because she thought she was saving money - the chair covers didn't fit.

If you are going DIY - check you have someone to fit them for you - venues charge the earth to do it - and the bride WILL NOT have time - believe me.

Not sure how to put links in so you will probably have to cut the link above ?

    Hi,

To be honest, if your theme is Navy and white the chairs as they are will lokk out of place if they are burgundy. Chair covers make it look extra stunning and if i were you i would pay for it, it does seem pricey but i think the overall effect will be well worth it.

It will all fit in and match. Good luck, and very stylish colours!!! xx

We are having them and are paying £4.25 for both cover and sash, to include delivery, fitting and collection.

The company we chose are recommended by the venue, and were kind enough to send me photographs of prevous weddings at the venue to show what it looks like in situ. Having seen them without there, there's no comparison and worth the £255 to us.

? After some thought we have gone for chair covers at our venue too!

Im getting mine from Miss Zoe (the hotel are setting them up) as this was by far the best quote I received- although I think this has something to do with many of the companies having to travel quite far to reach our venue and this bumped the price up a lot for setting them up which I understand.

I think if your venue would really benefit from them and you can afford them then go for it. As Mel_ODrama says - once I had seen pics of my venue with them, I really wanted them.

    hth ?
