Changing colour scheme help !!

Frizzball, 22 April, 2010 at 21:39 Posted on Planning 0 8

I had originaly picked a dark plum and silver colour scheme for our wedding in october but now that I have my dress I dont think the plum will go I think it might look quite drab as my dress is quite dark too

This is my dress but Im having extra beading added to the bust and its not as shiney in real life

http://www.beflirtydresses.com/acatalog/Teris-plus-size-evening-dress.html

I thought maybe hot pink but its so not me and MrFB has vetoed it anyway

What colours do you think will go with my dress ?

    Hi Frizzball,

I think dark plum would still work if you have something bright as an accent (like hot pink lol).

Or what about, pale blue, lime green, ivory?

I think it needs to be a bright colour so maybe more of a cadbury purple with a little bit of pink might work

Im a red head so maybe not lime green

    I love your dress!

I think that any shade of purple will look great against your dress!

Is your dress the same colour as the pic (dark grey?) if so i would be tempted to go for either pale dove grey dresses for bridesmaids (to prevent colour overload)

or you could always go for white or ivory bridesmaids!

I think it will work perfectly. You could add a touch of Cerise to your flowers & buttonholes to add a bit of colour:

I think the plum would be lovely with it! but as others have said - keep everything else paler. I would opt for ivory flowers and accessorise everything in silver bling!! possibly even silver shows and little bags maybe?

I like your dress and it seems a real bargain.

I understand purple may seem quite dark, but with splashes of light colour, as everyone has suggested, it could work great! I personally think hot pink dresses may be a bit overpowering for your silver dress.

Lovely dress. I think I'd go for light grey accents with either the plum or a dark purple. The pictures Sherrie posted are gorgeous (as usual!).

Thanks for all your help ladies

    Sherrie those pictures are great

I think Im definitely going to go with the cadbury purple for the bridesmaid dress and ivory and purple flowers with a touch of paler pink to brighten it up a bit

Josiep I didn't get my dress from that site I got it in a specialist eveningwear shop and it was actually a little bit cheaper than online at £259!!
