Cheap centrepiece ideas

germaki, 19 December, 2012 at 21:35 Posted on Planning 0 4

Can I be cheeky and ask for flashes or ideas on centrepieces that won't break the bank but look stunning?

Ideally if I could keep it under £100 and I think we will have the top table and 6 other round tables.

Thanks Smiley smile

    What is your theme/colour etc?

We had these below, 7 for 7 tables, total of about £120.

They were on a mirror plate

Depends on your theme/colour scheme & what your definition of 'stunning' is???

You can buy bulk vases off ebay (often 2nd hand from other weddings) & also get candle holders from charity shops. Have a centrepiece that doubles a place names and/or favours can save costs too.

You can make nice autumnal displays with pumpkins or apples. Or get a small branch, spray with glitter spray or other colour then hang faux pearls or other ornaments from them. Hand-made gingerbread can be hung with ribbons with guests names iced on & can be a favour also. If using vases, you can buy waterproof floralytes which really light up the vase & give them a real wow factor for not alot. Or a living, potted plant as a centrepiece?

    Some pics for inspiration:

For an October wedding why not collect odd shaped pieces of wood whilst out walking or spend a day at the beach in the Summer and pick up stray pieces of driftwood (although make sure no one catches you as some beaches don't allow driftwood picking!) Wash and bleach these in buckets to get rid of any smells and mini beasts then find something to place them on such as a log slice or a slate tile, decorate with fruit, berries, cones and Autumn coloured leaves and you've got a stunning centre piece that costs next to nothing!

Another idea is tall vases full of contorted hazel decorated with battery fairly lights for the guests tables and for the top table long bundles of twisted willow along the front edge with lights on. You can get bundles of hazel/willow in white and natural brown from Ikea. This would probably costs around £10 per bundle for the willow/hazel and a few quid for the lights so a good way of creating WOW factor without the price tag.

We are getting married in October 2014, we are going to have hurricane vases filled with dry leaves and fairy lights. Something like:

We're having a black and white theme and have finally settled on this. Obvs the background isn't right but you get the idea. For 10 of everything it cost around £150.
