Cheap favour ideas?

Gem2212, 4 November, 2012 at 00:37 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hey eveveryone

im getting married in July next year and I'm really struggling with ideas for favours!

On a really strict budget about £1 per person, could maybe stretch to £1.50 if its something really good!

Don't want scratchcards or lotto tickets as been to loads of weddings with that this year!

Would ideally like something a bit difference bit not too difficult to make as i'm not very handy!

Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!

having 139 daytime guests and my theme is butterfly's and colour is royal blue.

thanks! X

Do you have any charities that are important to you or your family? If so you could do the little charity badge/pin favours? Everyone gets a badge/pin and the money goes to charity Smiley smile

We're going to make cds of 'the soundtrack' to our wedding lol. ceremony songs (jack johnson, mumford & sons) first dance (city & colour) and evening tunage (a mix of everything from N Sync to Artful Dodger!!)

Tbey're cheap to make, tongue in cheek but a nice keepsake for everyone to remember the day/night.

Wine glass charms? I made the below for our wedding for around 40p each and they can double as place cards. Would be easy enough to get them in your colourscheme and with butterflys (sorry for the size)

We are also getting married in July and have gone for seeds to go with our summer wedding - wildflower seeds for the ladies and hot chilli seeds for the men. We got seed envelopes for a couple of quid off ebay, and the seeds themselves are cheap too (going to put about 10 in each envelope). We are doubling up the envelopes as places names too (can you tell we are on a strict budget hahaha!). I've put some pics of our inspiration:

I bought champagne flutes from ikea which were 38p each and then got a wee group of girls over and we glass painted everyone's names on them, tied a ribbon and small thank you tag round the base. We used them for champers reception and so guests had to find their glass which was a bit of fun!

I LOVE the glass idea, not sure I would carve the time out but it's a lovely idea!

How about personalised trolley coins, so functional and you can design the artwork yourself?

Ours wasn't very different but very cheap! We got chocolates with our names & wedidng date in our colour scheme, 20p each! You could give them 2 each in different colours? that was our original plan but budget meant they only ended up with 1 each in the end! x

Oooooh, I love this! I bet that went down really well!

I still haven't decided on favours but we're going to be going down the DIY route. If I have any eureka moments I'll let you know ?

I'm not doing favours. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere.

We're doing a little pile of chocolate money tied up with a ribbon. Works out about 25p per person.

Love this idea - one of my favourites from the many we've seen at weddings. You could always get seeds that attract butterflies too to tie it in with your theme? Or you could get some butterfly shaped chocolates like these and put them in some cellophane bags maybe https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beechs-Fine-Chocolates-Chocolate-Butterfly/dp/B008E4R9S0

    Hi,

We used a site on the internet (randomly found searching filled favour boxes/bags) they had filled favour boxes really cheap yes they were just sweets but we choose a larger box and put all our favourites in and it made great talking points. I also added peoples name meanings on to the tags as a little something different and a friend and trivia questions on the tags.
