Cheer me up please!

*Nursey*, 8 June, 2012 at 09:23 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 20

I'm extremely grumpy today ☹️ Having issues at work, it's *that* week this week (and the first I've had for months due to back to back Pills), and OH is on his first shift back at work tonight after our wedding so will be alone for the next 3 nights. I know that these are stupid reasons for being upset and it could be a lot worse, but I am feeling sorry for myself.

Any ideas how to cheer myself up?

My first idea is to buy lots of chocolate on the way home from work tonight

Not stupid reasons at all Nursey! Plus the weather is totally miserable.

Am afraid I don't have much in the way of cheering-up material as I'm feeling ill and cold... so will await others!

Chocolate and wine are a must - especially as Mr Nursey is on nights.

Did you see the picture of my car dashboard on fb last night? That may cheer you up by revelling in the misery of others.

Yup! Got rid of the oil one by, you know, adding oil. But the others are a complete mystery.

The engine management light (the one that looks a bit like an engine) has been on for 8 months now (came back on a week after spending £1000 trying to get rid of it). The other three came on last week. Fun.

Last time I added oil to my car, I set it on fire!!!

Could it be the sensors that are the problem, rather than an actual problem? Mr C gets this on his cars sometimes (he changes them at least once a year!)

I'm sure my friend got rid of that light by running a tank of that super-duper 'extra' type fuel though it after someone told her it would fix it?!

Have you looked at your manual to see what the other lights are for?

Haha Nutella I have actually done Step 3 this morning on the way to work!

Kharv - I did see the picture but I'm not that evil for it to make me smile. Is your car actually running ok though? Sometimes i feel they put these lights on to scare us (although the oil one is an exception!). I've had a mystery light on since I bought my beetle in September ?

Don't want to dampen the mood even further ladies but soon (possibly later this year) any warning light that is on will be an automatic MOT failure.

I'm lucky in this respect because OH is a tech so can sort things like that out.

Really?! My MOT is due next month so hopefully I can get it done before that. I'm planning on scrapping it in January.

I know Jo. I have a loan that I took out to get the damn thing which isn't paid off until December. I can't afford to do anything before then.

I'm a bit worried now as I think that warning light MOT fail thing is in effect now.

    Balls.

Its a bit like a disco with all of those lights.

(says the person whose car broke down yesterday and had to sit in wet clothes for 2 hours for the RAC to come)

I fixed my engine management light with a little bit of black tape ?

Although I might have to look up this new MOT thing someone mentioned, mine is due next month ?

    I am considering this.

MOT booked for Tuesday so we'll see how it goes!

Sorry for derailing your cheering up thread Nursey!
