Cheltenham Help - where is nice to eat

Heather W, 3 July, 2008 at 09:28 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

Hi All

There are seven of us (one 12 year old) going out to eat in Cheltenham next Saturday - we went to Ask last year which was nice, but I thought I would ask you where is good? Something either English or Italian or bistro'y would be great. My hubby is a little fussy - he doesn't like a decorated plate if you know what I mean and I am not sure about our newphew and his girlfriend. Luckily Jake (our friend's 12 year old) will eat most things and likes trying new stuff ?

So any recommendations would be great, thanks very much

Heather

I haven't been to Cheltenham for yonks, so don't even know if this place is still open, but the Daffodil used to be nice.

To jump on the thread, I too need to know this! I am going in 2 weeks time and have Sunday night sorted already but am looking for somewhere where I can have an earlyish dinner with my mum and nearly 2 year old (very well behaved, eats anything, and so's the baby haha)

We're eating in Hotel Du Vin the second night so something a little less budget busting might be good.

    sorry to crash!

Boring as it sounds the pizza express just off the Prom is really good if you have little kids (we've been there with my nephew a few times ranging from when he was about 9 months to now at 2 and half). You do need to go up some steps though - just to warn you if you have the buggy with you.

We got married at the Daffodil [grin] but it's recently been refurbished (by Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, daaaaaahling) and is super posh now. Well, so I'm told, I've not been.

Pizza Express is indeed fab if you've got kids. We like the Storyteller which is about three minutes walk from the highstreet - they are on the internet if you google them.

When i was at uni in Cheltenham I used to love going to That Mexican Place. The food is yum and is reasonably priced. Not sure if its still there though

Sadly this closed down a few months ago. We used to love going there.
