Children activity bags - inspiration needed.......please.

Purple*Sparkles, 29 January, 2013 at 11:13 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi lovely Hitchers. As title suggests I am looking for inspiration for what to include in the childrens activity bags. I would like them to keep the children entertained through the speeches. I thought bubbles/stickers but not sure what else?? Any ideas are welcome...

I'm going to put colouring book / crayons in mine.

Maybe a blank notebook to draw (I secretly hope their parents will tell them to draw us so we can keep it forever! - btw we only have 2 children at ours, neice and nephew!)

I might put a little toy in there to so they can play with it too.

Stickers are a good idea as well.

    Bubbles?

I got some little toys too for mine. They were like party favours.

The boys had this farting putty which was cool! and some little model to build. Oh and a flying top thing

We bought a couple of bits from the party bag section in Tesco, flicky frogs, those aeroplanes that you put together and then I printed off some colouring things from the internet. They all seemed happy with them

    How old are the children?

Maybe say to the parents that they can bring a small toy?

I will have my friends 10 and 6 year old boys and I've said they can bring there Nintendo ds, as long as the sound is off.

colouring is always a winner Smiley smile

I would personally say anything that will keep them occupied, for the little ones, these cbeebies magazines that you can get (as they have loads of sticker, colouring in this will keep them occupied whilst doing the speeches)

Whatever you get, make sure it doesn't make any noises. We went to one wedding where the bride had brought all the children a little book each, she didn't realise it had a squeaky button on the last page though so all through the speeches you keep hearing squeakers going, 5 children had them! Lots of noise.

We have 2 3 year olds (one of which is my son), 2 18m olds and 2 babies.

My super duper Mum has made them all bags with their name appliqued on and a different motif. Inside the bag I'm putting a colouring book and crayons, sweets for the older ones, this lightning mcqueen hand held fan thing OH found at Nice airport (v random I know but all kids seem to love it!), a set of character playing cards (peppa pig, fireman sam etc) which I hope they'll play with with the adults if needs be and a camera for the older ones with a list of what to take.

Kids like tat, any old shite will interest them ?
