Children activity packs

germaki, 25 March, 2013 at 14:06 Posted on Planning 0 7

I'm starting to think about putting a activity packs for the children who will be likely to attend the wedding-so far I have a girl who is 4.5yrs old, and nearly 7, 3 yrs old and two 2 yr old boys. There will also be a 6 month old and a nearly 1 yr old which I won't be making packs for.

So far I have
* bubbles
* crayons
* wedding related colouring book
* Haribo love heart sweets for the girl and Starmix or popping candy for the boys
* Stickers
* costume jewellery for the girl
* small toys for the boys which I will try and match to each child

Is it worth putting stuff like play dough or lego (or is that too much of a choking hazzard these days)? I don't want to go overboard with it but I don't want to not have enough that the children will get distracted.

Anyone done anything similar and mind flashing or sharing?

Thanks

    I'll be watching this with eager eyes.

    I have 2 children (well 3 but one is only 6 months old!) at ours, and they are the page boy / flower girl.

    I've got them personalised bags like so to hang on the back of their chairs;

    But like you want to fill them with stuff to keep them occupied!

    Im doing the same as i have 4 chidren under 10 coming to mine aged 8, 6, 3 and 2 years old for the whole day, i'm putting in just about everything you have said i wouldnt do playdough or lego i thought about it but decided it was a bit too much as we are trying to keep costs low. I am also renting giant garden games like connect4 for the children so they have other bits too as these can be rented for about £10 per game for the weekend.

    The last thing i want is bored screaming children during the speeches but i also understand that the children didnt ask to come to the wedding and probably dont even want to be there they dont understand them so i feel its only fair i give them bits to keep them happy.

    My Mum's made some bags, similar to those posted but they're personalised so our digger mad son has a digger appliqué and his name, our train mad nephew has a train appliqué and his name and so on.

    I've put colouring book, crayons, bubbles, a lightning mcqueen handheld fan thing, character playing cards, some sweets and for the older two a disposable camera so they can take some snaps!

    Kids are pretty easy to entertain and they do like new things so whatever you put in will be fine I'm sure.
