Children's choirs?

Purple Pixie, 2 September, 2011 at 12:19 Posted on Planning 0 4

Is there such a thing as a children's choir that you can hire? I love the sound of school choirs but don't know whether it would be possible to have one.

Contact the schools local to you/your venue - they may have a choir who will be happy to sing at your wedding for a donation to their charity box etc.

The church is just outside Tamworth, Staffs. I hadn't thought about contacting schools, that might be worth a try, thanks.

It might also be worth contacting the church as well. Larger churches often have young choristers although these are pretty much always all male, in case that bothers you.

Sounds like a lovely idea! I would reccomend school choirs rather than church choir children. I don't think many children are in church choirs these days. I remember when I was a kid I got paid 2 pounds per wedding and I used to piss about during the whole thing and then go and spend the money on sweeties! I always find that church choirs are VERY variable in quality. A school choir sounds great. As a one off I can imagine the kids would be much more enthuisastic! I can imagine getting it organised would be a bit of a minefield tho with the teacher and kids having to give up their out of school time plus health and safety/child protection vlue tape. Just a thought. Good luck though!
