Childrens entertainment east mids- 21 children!!!

smudge25, 5 August, 2013 at 11:49 Posted on Planning 0 12

We are getting married in Oct (east mids) so far we have 21 Children coming to the wedding!!!!

we don't have space to seat them all in the main room so the idea was to have the older ones (4+) in a side room. Its a modern extension on to a pig barn, its connected by big windows and doors but not part of the main room. We want to have some kind of entertainment to keep the kids busy during the meal and speeches (after that there will be a celidh to keep them busy)

The split is

From ages 2 to 4: 7kids
Ages 4- 11: 13kids

Should we get a crèche type service rather than a kids entertainer? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I would be more inclined to look at a creche type service rather than an entertainer. My youngest was terrified of a local party entertainer and spent most of the time in tears or on my lap! What about setting up a computer games area for the older ones? I'm sure that someone will be able to help more lol

I like that idea, a Nintendo Wii could be your lifesaver in this situation, but I suppose it will depend if your venue can accommodate this.

    A big cage?

Kidding! Maybe a creche type service would be better for that number of kids. What are you feeding them?

Kids are having Melon, Sausage and mash (pork only) and icecream - does that sound ok?

We were thinking that but with about 12 children being in their on their own I think that some supervision would be needed to encourage them to eat etc.

I have just done a quick google search (although I am not in the area so couldn't recommend) and have come up with these.

Thank you I have been in contact with Bumbles but they said the venue was too far away but Scalliwags have been helpful and am thinking will go with them. Ideally wanted recommendations but never mind

I've work in a nursery and one of the parents recently got married and hired myself and one other to run a creche service. She then hired a bouncy and soft play for the room and we were just there to supervise. Could you ask any of your parent guests if they know of anyone who does a baby sitting / creche service? Then the entertainment part is really up to you.

My Sister recently had her wedding, and she bought, giant games of Jenga, and ring toss types games, which all went down really well with the tiddlywinks!
