Children's Gift Bags

Tracey86, 8 July, 2012 at 14:06 Posted on Planning 0 8

I wasn't doing these because we have no children to the daytime part of our wedding but we have quite a few coming to the evening, my Mum said she thought it might be nice to do the children a "party pag" and she will pay for the bits and bobs to go in them etc so I'm happy to go along with this, it's a nice idea I thought.

Anyway, what age would you do these upto? We've got chidren ranging from 10months to teenagers. For the babies, we're not doing full bags but we've bought a couple of little board books so they aren't left out but I don't know what to do about the older ones and I'm a bit concerned that if we do them a bag they'll think we're treating them like little kids but if we don't then they'll feel left out. We're only spending about £3 per bag anyway- it's not a lot just a little token but I'm not sure.

When does a child stop being a child?

We did something similar and bought plain white cardboard kids boxes and filled them.

This website is great and has a range of toys/activities to suit all ages, plus it's really cheap. I bought everything for the children from there. We had children ranging from1-11.

Ive got 12 children to buy for aged 2-12, for the younger ones i have books, colouring books and crayon, the boys have a toy car each. the girls (older ones) were the hardest to buy for but got them bracelets, sweets and lipgloss. Also some snap cards and mini connect 4 games. This website was fab:

Thanks for the website suggestions ladies. I'll take a look.

I think I'll do the gift bags for up the upto 12 year olds, do you think that sounds about right? Older than that aren't going to be interested are they?!

I think 12 is a good age to stop at. Party bags for the children are a fab idea!

Wilkinsons have lots on offer at the moment like a pack of 4 mini pencils for 18p and then in their party section they have bits and bobs for girls and boys in multipacks
